AIBU?

...to think this toy is the biggest rip off in plastic history and leave it on the shelf?

"DD, what would you like for Christmas?"

"The big Frozen castle Mummy. It's all I've ever wished for!"

Repeat x 100

So Mummy looks at the big Frozen castle.

Why in the name of all things holy does this big plastic box cost over £100???? It looks like it is worth about £20. On a good day.

Apparently it is the only toy she has ever wanted (lie). But I can't get anything else out of her that she might like. I tried introducing the smaller version - £40 and still an obscene price - but apparently it doesn't have a sofa?!?!?

Has anyone bought this piece of crap? Thoughts?

Oh my days, that's appalling. I'm afraid I would say Santa has told you he doesn't make those, and you can't afford to buy it, so please, dd, pick something else.

With a hundred quid you could get her something good that she would get more than fifteen minutes out of, like a really nice bike!

Uanbu! ! And it doesn't even include the dolls. Rip off

Think you might be able yo bargain hunt that one much cheaper using discount codes and cashback websites. ... hopefully.

Try posting on Money Saving Expert and asking how you can get it cheaper.

I think it's quite pretty Blush

Sorry, love, Santa doesn't work with Disney.

Anything non-branded you would like?

No, not bought that piece of crap! I do buy a fair bit of over priced rubbish at Christmas, but that would be way too much, even for me Shock

I talked one of my dd's out of it. It is €160 here in Ireland and looks like a load of tat.

Well Santa doesn't always bring you what you ask for. He failed to bring ds2 a over-priced bound to fail Texta Puppy last year. Mind you, he loved his scooter. Wink

It doesn't come down to money. We're far from flush, but we could afford it. I just don't think I could have it in my house without scowling at it every time I caught a glimpse of it.

DD is an only child, an only grandchild and has a dad and stepdad spoiling her. She has pretty much everything. And a birthday 6 days before Christmas as well...

Or tell her she'll maybe get it for her next birthday - there will be hundred on Ebay for a tenner within a few weeks.

I don't recall the one in the film having any furniture...

Hang on, i just read that it's supposed to be both castles. It's tat regardless, and horribly overpriced!

My fecking almighty £110 quid for something that looks like it's worth £15. I am glad dd 7 is not into Frozen.

And the dolls come separately.

octopal · 28/11/2014 20:38

I agree op. It is the principle of it. We paid a similar amount for a dolls house last year but it is huge and came with lots of furniture, looks beautiful and will last a long time.

If we got the Frozen one it would irk me every time I saw it.

Its €109 in italy so cheaper. DD has been told that FC knows we have a small house and therefore we have no space. She has also asked for the Barbie house as well. She is getting one of the smaller fold up Barbie room thingys and a Frozen duvet cover ...should make up for it right???? Hmm Disney store does a smaller versiom still looks complete crap to me though.

You know what, if it's within your budget then I'm gonna say YABU.

Yes, it's crap and overpriced by our standards. But you asked what she wants and that's the answer.

She doesn't want a bike or a better value wooden dolls house.

Report
LordJabuJabu · 28/11/2014 20:42

Dolls sold separately?! Fuck off. They wish I loved my kids that much.

Has she already got all the outfits/assorted tat they're still peddling for Frozen?

Still can't believe how much it is! Manages to make a barbie dream house look like value for money!

Report
TheSpottedZebra · 28/11/2014 20:43

£119 when I look at it.
Are all our clicks driving the price up?
