I went last Friday so I won't be there if that's any help.

I'm not going. But you're right it might be everyone except me.

No-one will be there. They'll have gone shopping on Black Friday and snapped up all the bargains. You'll be left with full-priced crap.

Sorry.

i would have gone last friday but this is Christmas Payday. We also get paid before christmas too but that has to last through January, don't want to be spending loads. I hate shopping, i will be in and out in an hour on normal days. The centre will be heaving. I'm going to have a panic attack Grin

If you don't like shopping, don't go! I do most of mine online. With one trip somewhere pretty for 'Christmas shopping' which should really be called 'Christmas mulled wine drinking'.

I need to look at the things! there's soooo many things, and I can't buy Lush Soap without smelling it!
I love this time of year... but only when people are buying things for me. Black friday sales can lick my shiny metal arse. the boxing day sales are welcome though!

I'm worried about that too, as I'm off to a different shopping centre to hopefully finish my shopping off. So everyone planning on going to Festival Place in Basingstoke please stay at home Grin ds2 desperately needs a new coat too, as does dd. darn these blinking growth spurts. ds2 is now taller than me and I'm 5'9, he's 12!!!!!!!

Not everyone will have the same idea because surely most people do most of their Christmas shopping online now?

We do what Waiting does - we do it all online, then DH and I take a day off during December, go into Cambridge "Christmas shopping" which actually means soak up atmosphere, have a nice lunch and listen to the Sally Army play Christmas carols, with no pressure to buy presents.

Having worked in retail previously, I wouldn't go into a town centre a few weeks before Christmas on a Saturday with a gun to my head.

None of my coats fit me. I'm well under 5' so my coats are age 11-12 if im lucky, Grin but I need boots that fit (wide calf, small fit, size 3) and skinny jeans that fit, 25" legs, and a coat that isn't longer than my knees!

Then I need PJs for DM & Dsis, y'know them fluffy ones? as well as some other cute stuff I find for them, dad's getting joggers & shower gel set, then DP's getting a game, some new joggers, dressing gown & slippers. His mum's getting a wash set as with his stepdad, with brothers getting gloves & undies and grandparents getting lush stuff & the new terry pratchet book.

i hate christmas.
I love it.
But i can't stabd it when I have to spend money :(

I can't do mine online because things just won't get here in time. Primark, game, lush, superdrug & WH Smith are life savers. Also wilkos. also I live with my parents and they like opening my post if i'm working and they're not. 9 times out of 10 no one's in anyway so I miss delivery, don't have a car and our delivery office is 9 miles away!

I have to pay the balance on our Feb half term skiing holiday this week, so it's a satsuma and a lump of coal for my kids this Christmas Wink.

I'm doing double Christmas shopping this weekend - off to nearest city on my own tomorrow & home town Christmas market & lunch with a friend on Saturday.

I do most of it online, but for little knick knacks you can't beat a proper wander.

Am going to Tiger, Lush & the little hippy shops for DD's stocking fillers. Saturday will mostly be about food, wine & browsing Grin .

if you want to do black friday like a real american you need to go to the shops on Thursday night ... black friday starts then and people shop in the night ... insane!

And yet another Mrs Smugface. All bought and wrapped. Cards all written. Will send them out during first week of Dec. Got into this habit while teaching. Everything done during half-term week at end of October.
And yes, it's got terribly commercial. Black Friday indeed! When I saw that expression for the first time last week, I thought the Stock Market had crashed!
