Ours Drs surgery no longer has magazines, you just have to sit and stare at one another
I usually remember to take a book as my GP, although brilliant keeps you waiting for up to an hour.

At mine they had leaflets from a Christian organisation with a lady talking about how God saved her from drug addiction.

There's no magazines at all in my GP surgery.

Just a wide range of informative leaflets about a variety of health conditions.

Although they do have a table with some toys and books to keep kids amused while waiting.

I love a good flick through a trashy magazine. My hairdresser always has a good selection so I turn up early .

Our doctor's surgery though has the dull specialist interest ones too, like gardening, fishing and food ones.

I want to find out who Kerry Katona is marrying next not how to make the perfect ganache.

I donated a HUGE pile of naice mags to our local GP surgery including World of Interiors. Three weeks later I was in the waiting room and they have all gone nicked?. All that was left were health leaflets from Boots, the Sporting Shooter and very dog eared copies of The Field (rural practice)

We only have a huge health encyclopaedia folder thingy, all the pages are laminated for washing .. Have a couple of toys for children but one's broken and the other's broken.

One of the gps however, has his shelves covered in South Park figurines. .. Maybe slightly innapropriate but funny too

I wonder more about my local tyre fitting garage. They have stacks of the British Medical Journal in the waiting room.

I work in a GP surgery and we stock the waiting room with magazines supplied by patients and staff.

Anything halfway decent such as Hello, She, Grazia etc gets nicked (even if they're from 2 years ago!) and all the crap such as Beekeeping Monthly or whatever is left behind.

I reckon people start the crosswords whilst they're waiting then take them home to finish

Ffs who even reads Trucking? It just had pictures of trucks in it. That's it. Nothing else, just trucks and blurb about trucks.

Back in my days of RHS membership, I used to pass on 'The Garden' which must gave looked civilised of very wanky (probably depending on whether or not you had a garden).

So presumably, orangeanddemons, you have a trucker with a chronic condition which needs frequent monitoring, and everyone who likes sleb twaddle is really healthy.

We noticed there were not childrens magazines so when I was clearing up a while ago I put all our old ones in a pile and took them to the GP. There were Thomas the Tank Engine, Cbeebies, Jacqueline Wilson and various cute animal ones - probably 20 in all.

Two weeks later I had to take DS to the doctor. Not a single damned one left.

I don't think its down to the GPs. I think its down to certain people not giving a damn about anyone else.

Our GP has Autoplus, Pleine Vie, Santé and Le Point, as well as a few obscure things.

Most are the current issue, so I think that the practice buys them.

You can get a practice subscription pack and it has different types of magazine in. It's moderately expensive though for no huge benefit, people steal them, tear pages out of them, draw rude pictures etc. May as well just give out free wifi tbh.
