So I was out shopping with my 3dc. I passed an incident where a lady was arguing with a man over a jacket his was supposed to have stolen from her shop. She asked himto give it backorshewas goingto phonethe police. She than asked passers by for a phone. I guess I was worried about losing the phone orsome other backlash so carriedon walking with a view to telling a pcso or police that the incident was happening.
WasI wrong to be suspicious? should I havegot involved?

You could have offered to ring the police yourself, perhaps. I would not just walk on by.

I would have called the police myself.

If I was with my dc then I wouldn't have got involved. I would have rang the police though.

I would have not got involved directly but I would have called the Police in case it got really ugly.

You are right ofc course I should have done that. I guess I wasn't thinking. Phone the police that is.

YANBU. Like you say, it could have been a set up. If she was outside arguing with a shoplifter surely her colleagues were aware and had already called the police? If not, she put herself in a dangerous situation by confronting him alone.

I would not have got involved either.

There were quite a few late teens hanging around also so I guess I did feel vulnerable.
