to ask you to be cynical - I think D's has won an Xbox one
(52 Posts)This all looks legitimate, packet of skittles, on the outside it says you could win and on the inside is a code to enter.
DS goes to the website on the packet, enters the code and they say he has won the Xbox one. He calls me in to his room to show me. Yes it does say he has won and needs to enter details.
There are some terms & conditions, these look like standard, no employees or families to enter, no cash equivalent, etc.
So I enter my details and press next. I get an email downstairs to say the Xbox one will be sent within 28 days.
I have not been asked for any bank details. Their grammer and spelling are good.
Writing this out, makes it seem real. I cannot see any obvious scam so does the jury think this is genuine and he is actually going to get this prize.
I think that sounds genuine
Well done to your DS
Sorry - I can't sound cynical - it sounds like he's won to me

Looks OK to me! Well done to your DS.
If it's from the website on the skittles pack then I'd say it's all legit - congratulations!
Sounds perfectly legit. I won a holiday one in a similar type of promotion and it was all above board.
Congratulations! I bet your DS is over the moon.
Its genuine - why would Skittles bullshit you?
If it's from the packet of skittles not a random link on a website it sounds pretty genuine and if I was your ds I'd be pretty getting excited!
Getting pretty excited even^. See I'm so excited for your ds I can't type properly
I'd say its genuine, my sister won a lot of money on a pack of hula hoops, I was very jealous, still am nearly 20 years later
Because we never win competitions, that's why I don't believe it. Did ask him to buy me a lottery ticket, unfortunately he is too young for that.
My initial reaction was it can't be true. So I did not let D's get too excited. Now I need to convince him he can!
I get asked so many times if this email was genuine - they never are. That I cannot believe the true one.
Sounds genuine. Bet you son is made up what a stroke of luck.
Wow how exciting!!! I'd say it's genuine! Lucky ds!
That's ace, well done your DS!
I won an iPad in a feedback survey off the back of a BHS receipt last week. Everyone was cynical and thought it was too good to be true but it came by recorded delivery the very next day.
So now he needs to figure out what games he wants for christmas. He is a good age for it 13, but there is no way we would ever have been able to afford that as a Christmas present.
We won xbox recently through dh entering details after buying a tv.
Sold it on EBay .
Maybe wait until it comes first? Just to be on the safe side.
Get him to win me a PS4 would ya
Congratulations to your son! goes to bulk buy packets of skittles
I second waiting until it actually comes.
Or at least keep receipts.
Oh it was PS4 we won ...... Ds gutted we didn't keep it
@threepiecesuite
the prize may be genuine, but by completing the survey there was probably some small print which says that BHS and any companies who they sell your details to will spam you for the rest of your life!
This is such a happy thread! I can understand why you would be suspicious but since it's inside an actual packet of Skittles then it's legit! Your son must be so excited!
Will put caveats in so no-one buys anything till it has arrived. Still will allow ourselves to get excited.
Scram - everyone appears to have my email already. I have enough Viagra offers to open a pharmacy, I have hundreds of dead relations in Nigeria as well.
Well done. Definitely sounds legit :-)
