He's sulking because i got him to walk DD to school on his day off even though he has an admittedly quite bad cold which he's been struggling into work with, I would normally have taken her in myself and let him have a lie in as hes ill but I have a stomach bug and have been up since 2am being sick, i also ache all over but can't take any painkillers as I can't keep them down.

DH is a sulky child and should stop whinging and make a fuss of me right?

Stomach bug trumps a cold in my book. Yanbu!

I would say "my stomach bug trumps your cold as id have shit in the street while walking".

It's that simple and I wouldn't be justifying or arguing any more.

Hope you feel better Smile

Ooh rather have a dozen colds than be sick.

He's a daft bugger but cheer up he may get the stomach bug too. Grin

Rather have a cold than a stomach bug, I'm sure people at the school would feel the same way.

Tell him to stop whining and he aint dying.

You're both feeling wretched and both have the right to feel grumpy, though it's not unreasonable to expect the least ill person to do the school run. If he doesn't generally resent being asked to help out with your DC or always puts his needs before yours, then it's just the cold talking. I wouldn't expect much in the way of a fuss being made but what can he really do if you're running to the loo and can't keep food or drink down? Hope you feel better soon, OP Flowers

thanks all, I think i'd rather have a cold too.

Dovahkiin, realistically there is probably nothing he can do but i think he should find something nice to do for me Wink

YANBU to make him do the school run, you do sound worse than him.

YABU however, to expect him to make a fuss of you - he is feeling shitty as well! Perhaps he's been slogging through the last few days at work feeling terrible, with the prospect of a day off and some rest / sleep being the only thing getting him through!

Well he could stop sulking for a start.

YANBU a cold can make you feel bad but it's easier to do a school run with a cold than a stomach bug.

maninawomansworld - I admit I may be ever so slightly unreasonable wanting a fuss

Fresh air is wonderful for colds.
