YANBU, it's awesome isn't it?

Fixerupperz Tue 11-Nov-14 19:51:19

We watched the whole box set, start to finish in about 2 weeks and I just love it. I love him. grin.

YANBU at all! I sobbed during the last scene.

I also cried when James gandolfini died. He was awesome as tony

0ellenbrody0 Tue 11-Nov-14 19:53:39

It's constantly on Sky, we're watching it for the third time.

FreudiansSlipper Tue 11-Nov-14 19:57:09

I sobbed when someone is taken out to the woods and shot sad

do not want say who if anyone has just started watching it

I thought the ending was great i am sure Tony says something about it sometime earlier in the season (again do not want to give anything away)

FreudiansSlipper Tue 11-Nov-14 19:58:27

watching it the second time i realise there is so much i missed the first time around and with The Wire

no other series has come close to The Wire and The Sopranos

Cranfieldmc Tue 11-Nov-14 19:59:51

It was a fabulous ending to a fabulous series.

Fixerupperz Tue 11-Nov-14 20:09:27

We are doing the wire next. When someone was shot in the woods I felt a bit bereft especially since they're referenced to do much later on sad.

FreudiansSlipper Wed 12-Nov-14 07:29:30

The Wire is fantastic. Oh you will cry especially season 4 sad

NoelleHawthorne Wed 12-Nov-14 07:34:59

I couldn't watch it for a few months after JG died, so sad

Sopranos is the best ever!

Love the scenes between Tony and Dr Melfi, so brilliantly acted. Carmella was amazing too, such a range of emotions conveyed in just a look.

I loved The Sopranos, but I hated the last episode. I .... just didn't get it, lol. I felt cheated because they didn't tell me what had happened. I remember going online and googling "final episode sopranos" at the time, and yes it was widely believed to be an excellent ending. So I know I am the exception in disliking it. Still didn't spoil my overall love of the series though. I loved the black humour.

LemonChicken I too disliked the ending - after such a brilliant series I felt cheated after having invested so much time getting there. I loved the series, but the ending was such a let down, all just fizzled out with no tying up of loose ends at all. Messy.

Behoove Wed 12-Nov-14 09:14:16

I couldn't watch it!
Loved, loved the full series - but just couldn't bring myself to watch the end. Somewhere in my strange head they are all carrying on with their complicated lives..
Also was really very sorry to hear of James Gandolfini dying, a real talent lost.

TSSDNCOP Wed 12-Nov-14 09:14:46

Freudian I found the scene harrowing too. For a second I thought maybe they'd let X go, but no.

I had to stop watching the whole programme after that.

Carmella was awesome!

James G is a legend x

TSSDNCOP Wed 12-Nov-14 09:15:35

Behoove I did the same with Morse. blush

CrispyFern Wed 12-Nov-14 09:25:09

Best final episode ever.

valrhona Wed 12-Nov-14 09:29:58

I fell in love with Gandolfini watching the Sopranos.blush

TSSDNCOP, glad I'm not the only one!

I Love the episode with Christopher, Paulie and the Russians in the woods. Hilariously dark grin.

My fave character was Sylvio. Great in the series and a cracking guy in real life. Love him.

I too hated the ending when I first saw it but its grown on me. I was never that fond of the Wire but really enjoyed Boardwalk Empire which has a lot in common with the Sopranos.

SeeChooJimmy Wed 12-Nov-14 09:37:18

I did too and when he died in real life.

I've seem rumours of a prequel. Not sure if it would be as good though.

I've watched every episode about 4/5 times grin the one with chrissy and paulie in the wood is one of my favs too grin

Behoove Wed 12-Nov-14 09:37:33

I quite like Ray Donovan for that reason. Similar, but obviously not as good.

OnIlkelyMoorBahtat Wed 12-Nov-14 09:40:03

YANBU OP, YANBU. The Sopranos is the greatest piece of television ever made.

Fixerupperz Wed 12-Nov-14 09:44:25

Haha yes the Russian in the woods is brilliant, I loved Christopher too he sacrificed so much sad.
Paulie is one of my fave characters in any show ever.
When Tony asks him if his laugh thing is a tic had me in stitches grin
The Vito thing was sad, real sad.
