AIBU?

To think kraft have ruined Cadburys

I've never felt the urge to eat a bag of jelly beans while stuffing my face with a bar of whole nut , nor have I been disappointed that the only flavours savoured from my beloved dairy milk are that of delicious creamy chocolate and not strawberry/banana/cola/popcorn etc.

I also like my choc in proper squares! Not the odd ball rounded shapes it comes in these days.

And now no more chocolate coins at Christmas!! Shock

AIBU to think all that was good has now been ruined! Sad

I only eat galaxy now

YANBU. They only add all those adornments to try and draw attention away from the fact the chocolate tastes like slimy sick these days.

I agree I do like the jelly bean chocolate though

Why have they got rid of chocolate coins?! Is it really necessary Sad

Even Galaxy has lost a certain something Sad

But NU in the slightest, Dairy Milk is now wholly off the treat list.

I was just wondering about this yesterday; I had a bag of Buttons and they tasted sickly sweet and artificial, and most importantly, not at all like how I remember them.

The taste doesn't resemble Cadbury from ten years ago. Hotel chocolate and Galaxy for me now. I never thought I'd say that.

Apparently chocolate coins are 'too fiddly' to wrap in foil Hmm

The whole thing just makes me sad. It's times like this I need comfort by reaching for the biggest bar of my favourite.....oh wait! Doh!

I hate Kraft for what they have done to our lovely Cadburys.

I went to school within scent of the factory and used to love their chocolate.

It is ruined now Sad

Kraft is awful and horrible. Their food tastes cheap and nasty. I've not bought any cadburys since they bought them.

Sad isn't it?

Cadbury chocolate now smells of sick and tastes disgust. Stopped buying Cadbury ages ago.

YABU - Cadbury's chocolate has always been vile Grin - Galaxy all the way here or Lindt

Report
Madamecastafiore · 09/11/2014 09:32

DCs eat Lindt now.

We eat Aldi's and I have to say it's bloody yummy.

No one who can knock up a burger cheese square should be left in charge of the chocolate. Sad

Sorry, I just read an article and we are blaming the wrong people: Mondel?z International have completely ruined Dairy Milk.

I hate all the stupid new products they're making and mixing cadbury with. ritz and cadbury for example. haven't noticed a difference in taste though.

All this fuss about chocolate coins! I don't think I've ever seen cadburys ones. Personally think the supermarket/shop version are better.

No chocolate coins? What! But where do we get decent choc coins from then? As so many shops sell nasty chocolate coins that are very disappointing.
M&S? Does hotel chocolat do them?

Really shocked. Really poor decision by Kraft. They really don't care about the brand heritage do they. It's clearly just another money spinner for a conglomerate. The writing was on the wall when the chief exec refused to attend Downing Street when the takeover was going through. Arrogant Hmm

Yup, it's just as Rich Hall predicted ....

I strongly suspect that having whipped up many column inches of hoo-ha about dropping chocolate coins, Cadbury's will 'bow to public demand' and 'have a rethink' and lo and behold, chocolate coins will suddenly be available to buy by the wheelbarrow load in a few weeks' time.

except most sensible people will have stocked up at Lidl where the chocolate is both cheaper and tastes of actual chocolate

Good God what's wrong with you all? The jelly bean chocolate is an absolutely fine creation!

Mind you, I love all chocolate from the cheap to the spendy. I love Cadbury, Lindt, Galaxy etc etc. partial to an old fashioned Frys Turkish Delight and I really like dark salted caramel chocolate.

The only one I'm not hugely keen on is Nestle chocolate. However I'd certainly manage if I had to Grin

All they've done is offered some daft new products in addition to the original Dairy Milk. They haven't changed the recipe, although apparently the rounded shape can change our perceptions of the flavour.

As we age, our tastebuds change. It's possible that the changes in shape and brand image have prompted people to notice that the chocolate doesn't taste the way they remember it tasting.

I steer clear of Cadbury now they are American owned and basically lied . I use Waitrose's bar chocolate- dark with hazelnuts - best by a mile

I'm not that bothered about chocolate coins tbh but what they've done to Roses over the past five years merits a public enquiry or something. I'm quite serious.

Mondelez took over Kraft. Toblerone has been ruined too. M&S Swiss Mountain bar is better. Chocolate companies blame the price of cocoa for the change in recipe / decline of quality. Why all the cheap multipacks then? They just want to sell more & get us addicted. I'd rather spend my money on one good bar.

Of course they've changed the recipe! It tastes almost like American chocolate now - read, soap. I imagine they use the same volume of 'fats' or whatever but they will be cheaper versions which make it last longer.

The swirling bits rather than blocks are so it is not obvious that they have decreased the size of the bar by about a third.

I by hotel chocolat, lidl cheap hazelnut bars or sainsburys fancy lants pistachio chocolate. Cadburys was always a bit shit but is now inedible..
