AIBU?

To think this should have been made a bit clearer

Booked to do an 'adventure' style activity 3 months ago at a centre about 2 hours from me. Got a phone call on the date to say sorry the weather isn't good enough. I rebooked for the following week.

Drove up and was told sorry, you can't do it as the weather isn't good enough. I was a bit annoyed but didn't say anything. Rebooked for today.

Just had a text that the weather isn't good enough Hmm

Activity cost £200 which I paid when I booked. Now the place closes from the end of November - and is only open weekends, I only get one day off a week and I haven't been able to do anything the past 3 weeks because of this.

Aibu in thinking that it should be clearer that they need perfect weather conditions and these are unlikely in autumn and winter?

I don't know whether to ask for a refund as I've 3 more 'chances' this year then it's closed until march!

Yep, refund. £200 would be very useful on the run up to Christmas.

I don't think I'm going to be entitled to a refund.

Last week when I went I did the training and it was only after that they informed us we wouldn't be doing the activity after all! I bet if I ask they'll say "sorry but you've done the training."

Grr! Plus I really want to do it but it's taking over my life as every day I plan to do it I can't because it gets cancelled and that happens to be my only day off!

Refund, definitely. Unless it's something that's an experience of a lifetime then use the £200 to treat yourself to something else.

Cross posts - I'd ring them or download the small print. Other than that you could rebook for July or August so you've got a better chance with the weather. That way you wouldn't be waiting every weekend.

Its parachuting isn't it? My son is a keen jumper and spends at least half of his scheduled time at the base not jumping and coming home disappointed. all day sitting there in the hangar, waiting for a break in the winds/clouds/ rain. Goes with the activity, I'm afraid. My husbands flying lessons are the same - at leas half are cancelled at short notice.

If I'm right, you need to ask them how the training is valid for as you will need to redo the training before you actually jump if the elapsed time is more than a certain number of weeks.
