YANBU. Swap to channels with no ads. My Ds2 is a complete magpie - thinks he wants every shiny thing on the adverts "Ds2 can you explain why you want a My Little Pony castle? Confused "
The trick with my older one is to say "of course, why don't you add it to your Amazon wish list? which I edit later once he's forgotten about it
In the event Ds1 has asked for a Lego set he's been on about for months and Ds2 faced with a gazillion plastic crap things he's seen advertised wants a surprise Grin

YADNBU. That's why I bloody love CBeebies, Justin and all. I hate how Milkshake and channels like Nick JR have shows sponsored by so and so company, and give away branded prizes. It goes way beyond the normal ads.

Most of the toys on these ads look like complete crap that will end up in a skip by spring anyway.

YABU to be so cross about the ramping up of toy ads. It happens every year near Christmas. I just 'uh hu' at DD(6) and tell her to write it on her Christmas list. Change the channel.

Yanbu. Hate adverts in general. Can honestly say I've never bought anything because I've seen it advertised. Watch netflix, YouTube or cbeebies instead.

I have always told the DC that they only advertise things which are so rubbish that they don't sell themselves, they have to be made to look good on TV to get people to buy them.

Add in the fact that everything the DC have been bought from adverts (birthday presents from others etc) have turned out to be disappointing and/or easily breakable and you have two pretty convinced children.

DCs watch a lot of Boomerang and the adverts are particularly bad. I hate the fact that the songs get so stuck in my head, but I did chuckle over a product called the 'Y-Flickr', I only heard it from the kitchen and rushed because I thought they were watching something highly unsuitable.
