What is this all about? I can buy extra large pants but to buy a slim fit long leg forget it? Unless I go to a more expensive shop! It's alful that there's a market for this and not for small slim kids! I don't care what shape kids are! I just want a selection of pants in shops! It's like going to top shop and being a size 10 and them having size 12 or 20 it's a joke!!!!

I've never had a problem, I get school trousers from Asda which are adjustable in the waist and longer legged for my 11 yo ds.

Must be an area thing

They come in all sizes and styles here

Have you tried online?

H&M are good for jeans too

Super long seems to be the default here, so you just buy the waist size you want, and shorten them.

I use bond awed, so I can let the legs down again, as the waist grows Grin

Bond-a- web. Obviously.

so you have a problem getting pants fit your kid, and your response is to argue that other people shouldn't be able to get pants to fit their kid?

Ain't you a peach?

All I'm saying is if they can have plus size kids collections why can't they do slim fit as well as regular fit? 3 different fittings for different shape kids ! Next are great but cost! My ds looks like a clown in bigger size regular fit from asda range! His legs are well like sticks bless him!!!

They do slim fit in literally 1000s of stores

Have you not looked online?

I'd order online if I were you.

Slim fit is all the rage here in the SE. I go al boggle eyed worrying about how even sixth formers manage to squish in and out of their tiny legged trousers.

do you mean trousers?

Marks & Spencer do a long and an extra long fitting in school trousers, with adjustable waists.

Report
grocklebox · 05/11/2014 11:06

maybe look somewhere other than asda then.

M&S do extra long as well as regular length & have adjustable waists. Not much more expensive than supermarkets.

WorraLiberty · 05/11/2014 11:10

BHS do them too and they're great quality.

Thanks I'm going to try bhs and m&s never been to m&s for years! Just wish the larger supermarket stores would be a peach and give mums some slim fit sizes (that are easy on the purse)

Do you mean pants or trousers?

What age is your DS?

I liked the adjustable waist trousers when DS was small and I just turned up the bottom with wondaweb - it's school trousers, not a fashion parade!

We'll perhaps that's it, they are holding the slim fit trousers back for Dads. Hmm

So basically, you haven't looked very hard, but fancied starting a 'bash the fat kid' thread.

Are we calling trousers pants now? That op confused me.

Matalan seem to over stock on the generous fit school trousers. It's all they had in August when I was looking.

I was all confused with the pants/trousers thing too.

My son was also a slim little thing and I got handy with a sewing machine. Very purse-friendly.

I find that John Lewis school trousers tend to be slim fit and long in the leg.

My petite 8-year-old-sized daughter (actually age 10) is still in age 6 JL school trousers.

As you can see by the links provided slim fit long length school trews are easy to come by. But let's not let that stop you having a pop at other children's body types eh.

I've bought slim fit Asda ones for my skinny 6 year old. They have an adjustable waist and fit him very well. They were only £3.50 as well and look very smart.
