According to the papers, so much water was being drawn off that the water system kept shutting down (it does this automatically, to prevent wastage), and engineers had to go out to Colonsay five times over the weekend, to reset it.
Did they not realise that the blue-grey crinkly stuff that surrounds their ISLAND is called the sea, and it is made of water? And given that they live on an island off the north coast of Scotland, the water that surrounds their island is going to be permanently icy cold?
So why didn't they just mosey down to the beach and dip a bucket into the sea? Why, when you know you live on an island with a dodgy water system do you think, 'Yes, it will be a fine idea to draw off gallons of water to dump over my loved ones' heads - what problems could that possibly cause?'
