To wear my son's happy to bed?

You know that one night a month where your period is extra heavy - well sanitary towels never q worked for me and were prone to leakage. Until one night I had to improvise as I had run out of towels, so used my son's nappy inside my pants. No leaking at all. It is amazing. Have used it on that one annoying night for the last few months. But my husband does have to see it as I get into and out of bed. AIBU? And this is not a thread about a thread. Coincidence.

Sounds good to me. We don't have any nappies around atm, but I'm almost tempted to buy some for the very purpose.
I try two or three extra massive towels, but nothing ever seems to stop the flooding on, as you say, that one night when it's heavy.

I hate periods - what a shit design is that eh? What a mess.

Would a maternity pad work? Maybe more absorbency without using the nappy?

Sorry but my DP has seen me in various states but I'd feel like I've hung up my dignity (although DP would probably find it amusing :o), this is however one of the reasons I love my cloth towels as it means I never run out :o

I've done this! As an improvisation when I ran out of towels. Flattened out inside my knickers though- not actually taped on me like a nappy!
When I had to dispose of it i got all paranoid that someone would somehow find it and assume a horrific child killing had taken place, then track me down through DNA period blood testing and i would have to explain the entire sordid story to police, in a strip lit interrogation room, at midnight.
none of that happened btw and it really was very absorbant.

You can get nappies for older kids, I think up to 11/12, I'm sure they'd fit a smallish woman

I use incontinence knickers sometimes for bed.. I used them when I had babies as well. Put them on like knickers and take them off when finished with.

I've used nappies as well in the past.

Your bottom doesn't need to be small, after all, a nappy is far larger than a sanitary towel. You use it like you would a sanitary towel.

I accidentally bought incontinence pads in France once and have never looked back for that special once a month night!

I have read that cloth pads and mooncups and their ilk can actually reduce your flow, because disposable pads are so absorbent they can make you bleed more heavily. Don't know if this is true but they are certainly cheaper and more comfortable.
