I am home alone as my husband is away on business and my daughter won't be home till 10pm.... Would the world come to an end if I didn't make dinner and I just ate pringles?

caveat - I have already eaten half a tube (all by myself, I'm very good at eating)

I have been known to have a plate of cashew nuts and 3 types of cheese as dinner...

Joysmum Wed 09-Jul-14 17:18:03

Maybe eat the other half as desert?

wifeandmotherandlotsofother Wed 09-Jul-14 17:18:37

littlewoolly - now you're just putting ideas in my head

Not unreasonable at all.
I may have eaten a bag of crisps for lunch... and only that. No point in cooking for just me. (Though I usually have frozen jacket potatoes in for lunchtime - 5mins in the microwave and lunch is ready, but I ran out.)

I'm considering wine and crisps for dinner smile

whatsagoodusername Wed 09-Jul-14 18:25:31

It sounds like a lovely dinner to me.

oh god I would kill for wine and crisps, I am however tee total this week after showing myself up whilst under the influence last weekend and again this blush I am also at sticking point with my weight loss plan so need to stay away from both. <sigh> in the hope it kick starts the loss again and weans me away from the over indulgance of the wine! I will however strongly encourage you to Go for it!

I've got the wine so far smile

bubalou Wed 09-Jul-14 18:35:25

Not at all.

I've eaten a 12 bag multi of monster munch for dinner once.

Mmmm smile yum

wifeandmotherandlotsofother Wed 09-Jul-14 20:02:24

well thanks you dearest mumnetters, you have validated my inertia. I have added to the tube of pringles, a snickers for dessert. But I am resisting the half bottle of wine left in the fridge.... so far

Janethegirl Wed 09-Jul-14 20:12:24

I'm afraid a part bottle of wine would be no more if I was around smile

Dp is away on business and for dinner I had stir fry... Why didnt I order the food shopping to come tonight instead of tomorrow so I can eat crap too sad

OneLittleToddleTerror Wed 09-Jul-14 20:15:20

No do whatever you like. I usually have steak when DH not home because he's an ex-vegetarian who will eat fish and chicken. I seldom get the chance to cook myself a nice juicy steak grin

Enjoy your pringles. And have a glass of wine too!

wifeandmotherandlotsofother Wed 09-Jul-14 20:48:12

I have resisted both the other half tube of pringles and the wine #feellikeIshouldgetamedalforthat

CoffeeTea103 Wed 09-Jul-14 22:01:45

Yabu... What about the dip grin

Janethegirl Wed 09-Jul-14 22:10:23

I eventually cooked chicken stirfry with noodles.....better than crisps smile

ChillySundays Wed 09-Jul-14 22:28:04

God, how I love mumsnet, it's like finding all the lost members of your tribe.

I love wine crisps and cheese for dinner! envy as currently on diet including none of the above!

DoJo Thu 10-Jul-14 17:32:38

I had a huge sharing bag of crisps for lunch - I felt sick all morning (no insinuations please!) and that was all I fancied that didn't make me feel like heaving. I will have a salad for dinner as my husband will be home and I cannot confess to eating the crisps I bought for us, so will have to overcompensate and hope he doesn't get suspicious!

Yy, CoffeeTea123, definitely a Bit U to have your Pringles sans dip and wine, OP!
