this bloody woman offered us grazing for dpony then my daughter started helping her wth her own band of feral horses which she keeps as ornaments or status symbols.
dd15 was mucking out for her at weekends and doing all sorts of helpful things but nothing kept the woman happy - she was constantly moaning and demanding money from me as she said dd did not work hard enough confused
then one day she was moving a load of broken asbestos and dd helped her.
when i confronted her with it she basically blanked me.
she asked my son 15 to get her some weed.
she went around the neighbourhood digging up gossip about us and repeateing it to my children.
we were looking around for a new place for the pony but could not find anywwhere.

the crisis came this weekend when she turned out a stallion with her mares one of which was ours and said to dd15 'dont blame me if your mare gets pregnant'
we moved the pony at once and i confronted her again about the asbestos - she told me to 'get a life'.
so i just phoned environmental health as that broken asbestos is still dumped in the corner of her filed.

arrghhh please can someone throw in their pennyworth!!
I am actually quite worried as she is extremely unpleasant and aggressive and is bound to be round my house effing and blinding or spreading malicious gossip about us.
oh how i long for the city.

Of course yanbu.

Asbestos should be dealt with and disposed of safely. It should not be left lying around. did she supply some sort of PPE for your DD?

NollaigShona Mon 23-Jun-14 15:00:47

Yes and no.

Yanbu to report asbestos being handled incorrectly.

Yabu to only do it because she incommoded you.

Aeroflotgirl Mon 23-Jun-14 15:01:39

Yanbu very very concerning. Have you taken dd and ds to hospital to get checked as they been in contact with asbestos.

NigellasDealer Mon 23-Jun-14 15:02:14

yes i thought that as i was typing it nollaig.
i have been intendng to do it for a while now - just so hard to find alternative pony grazing

NigellasDealer Mon 23-Jun-14 15:03:59

what is PPE gotnot?

runningonwillpower Mon 23-Jun-14 15:04:58

The whole situation sounds unreasonable!

Trooperslane Mon 23-Jun-14 15:08:43

Ppe = personal protection equipment

Asbestos is very dangerous. I'd take Dd to a&e.

Sorry to worry you.

NigellasDealer Mon 23-Jun-14 15:09:21

i know it does running - I had to go down there to get the pony's saddle as dd had ridden up to us bareback and very very upset. at that point the woman said that 'dd never tells you the truth' and i just saw red as she has been undermining me to my children since she met us.
most of her own children do not come to see her or spend time with her.
OK I admit i went down ther all calm and sensible and ended up calling her a "mad old bitch" and told her to get her own kid to move asbestos.
I do not think there is any medical test for this.

gotnotimeforthat Mon 23-Jun-14 15:10:03

Personal protective equipment such as masks, glasses, gloves, overalls etc.

NigellasDealer Mon 23-Jun-14 15:11:07

no nothing like that - she said it was OK as it was raining confused -

MaidOfStars Mon 23-Jun-14 15:13:16

we were looking around for a new place for the pony but could not find anywwhere

we moved the pony at once

Is the grazing situation resolved now? If so, don't look back - have nothing more to do with her.

MrsWinnibago Mon 23-Jun-14 15:13:29

Feck Environmental the police! If she DID get your DD to help her then that's assault!

Boudica1990 Mon 23-Jun-14 15:14:22

Asbestos is a carcinogenic, it does take long term exposure but sometimes not. I would consult you GP, asbestos is a health hazard.

mumtobetothree Mon 23-Jun-14 15:14:26

I have two ponies that are 'ornaments' as you call them, should I not have them?

YANBU for reporting her for having dangerous materials on her land but YABU if you would have overlooked this when getting free grazing...JMO

NigellasDealer Mon 23-Jun-14 15:15:05

yes we put her in the garden .....
really mrswinnebago? when i confronted her she said that she was moving it herself and dd offered - therefore she is not at fault.
I think that is bollocks as dd is 15.

MrsWinnibago Mon 23-Jun-14 15:15:50

Yes I bloody would! Asbestos is can and does kill. I wouldn't hesitate about the police...your child is a minor!

WorraLiberty Mon 23-Jun-14 15:15:53

Are you saying you wouldn't have reported the dumped asbestos if she had been nice to you and your family?

YANBU to have reported it btw.

NigellasDealer Mon 23-Jun-14 15:16:06

I was looking around for other grazing all the time mumtobe - just not that easy.

MrsWinnibago Mon 23-Jun-14 15:16:21

And see the doctor about her exposure to this. I would be very worried OP.

NigellasDealer Mon 23-Jun-14 15:16:35

no not really worra -

MrsWinnibago Mon 23-Jun-14 15:17:15

Go and take photographs of the the non emergency number of the police now and tell them what this woman did re your DD.

NigellasDealer Mon 23-Jun-14 15:19:23

mumtobe it is up to you if you want to keep 2 ponies as 'ornaments' but 15 odd would be excessive dont you think? when she is not working any of them?

NigellasDealer Mon 23-Jun-14 15:20:09

i think i will mrswinnebago
