this bloody woman offered us grazing for dpony then my daughter started helping her wth her own band of feral horses which she keeps as ornaments or status symbols.
dd15 was mucking out for her at weekends and doing all sorts of helpful things but nothing kept the woman happy - she was constantly moaning and demanding money from me as she said dd did not work hard enough Confused
then one day she was moving a load of broken asbestos and dd helped her.
when i confronted her with it she basically blanked me.
she asked my son 15 to get her some weed.
she went around the neighbourhood digging up gossip about us and repeateing it to my children.
we were looking around for a new place for the pony but could not find anywwhere.

the crisis came this weekend when she turned out a stallion with her mares one of which was ours and said to dd15 'dont blame me if your mare gets pregnant'
we moved the pony at once and i confronted her again about the asbestos - she told me to 'get a life'.
so i just phoned environmental health as that broken asbestos is still dumped in the corner of her filed.
wibu?

Of course yanbu.

Asbestos should be dealt with and disposed of safely. It should not be left lying around. did she supply some sort of PPE for your DD?

NollaigShona · 23/06/2014 15:00

Yes and no.

Yanbu to report asbestos being handled incorrectly.

Yabu to only do it because she incommoded you.

Ppe = personal protection equipment

Asbestos is very dangerous. I'd take Dd to a&e.

Sorry to worry you.

i know it does running - I had to go down there to get the pony's saddle as dd had ridden up to us bareback and very very upset. at that point the woman said that 'dd never tells you the truth' and i just saw red as she has been undermining me to my children since she met us.
most of her own children do not come to see her or spend time with her.
OK I admit i went down ther all calm and sensible and ended up calling her a "mad old bitch" and told her to get her own kid to move asbestos.
I do not think there is any medical test for this.

Is the grazing situation resolved now? If so, don't look back - have nothing more to do with her.

Feck Environmental Health...call the police! If she DID get your DD to help her then that's assault!

Asbestos is a carcinogenic, it does take long term exposure but sometimes not. I would consult you GP, asbestos is a health hazard.

I have two ponies that are 'ornaments' as you call them, should I not have them?

YANBU for reporting her for having dangerous materials on her land but YABU if you would have overlooked this when getting free grazing...JMO

yes we put her in the garden .....
really mrswinnebago? when i confronted her she said that she was moving it herself and dd offered - therefore she is not at fault.
I think that is bollocks as dd is 15.

Yes I bloody would! Asbestos is lethal....it can and does kill. I wouldn't hesitate about the police...your child is a minor!

Are you saying you wouldn't have reported the dumped asbestos if she had been nice to you and your family?

YANBU to have reported it btw.

She got your DD to move asbestos but the tipping point was her putting a stallion in a field with your pony?

Please get medical advice for your DD. I couldn't care less about stabling horses but asbestosis can be extremely dangerous. Please speak to someone about this.

And no, yanbu to report her.
