If a Jammie Dodger isn't a typical biscuit then what is?!

Meloria Sun 15-Jun-14 20:47:30

And is it a full moon tonight? Lots of weird threads this weekend.

A digestive

wowfudge Sun 15-Jun-14 20:50:18

tak1ng - I was going to say digestive therefore that must be the correct answer grin

I think the humble rich tea is THE definitive biscuit.

Mmmmm fancy some now with a nice cup of strong tea..

SnookyPooky Sun 15-Jun-14 20:51:37

Digestive, custard cream etc.
Jammy Dodgers are for special occasions.....

Harry1603 Sun 15-Jun-14 20:54:16

Rich tea, custard cream or bourbon. Jammie Dodgers are special biscuits and definitely not to be shared.

I once had a row with DH because he ate my last Jammie Dodger...

museumum Sun 15-Jun-14 20:55:02

A custard cream.

Jammy dodgers will go first on a plate of mixed biscuits.

I believe chocolate digestives are the best-selling biscuit in the UK, but I could be pulling that fact put of my a$$

gordyslovesheep Sun 15-Jun-14 20:57:16

yes a typical one for me would be the chocolate digestive

a typical would be that one with smarties on from Aldi

WendyBloomers Sun 15-Jun-14 20:58:00

What were those biscuits years ago with a face on them? Oh the nostalgia..

TitsCrossed Sun 15-Jun-14 20:59:34

Ginger nut.

Nuff said.

Wadingthroughsoup Sun 15-Jun-14 20:59:57

Rich Tea or Malted Milk.

Mmmmmm, Malted Milk. So understated, yet so very delcious and moreish.

OddBoots Sun 15-Jun-14 21:00:25

Jammie Dodgers aren't typical, they're special.

NoArmaniNoPunani Sun 15-Jun-14 21:00:27

Jammy dodgers are the greatest biscuits ever.

buddles Sun 15-Jun-14 21:00:27

I'm going to shock you all here - I am not a huge fan of the Jammie dodger. Granted I will eat them but only if it's a choice between that and a malted milk/Nice or the only biscuit in the tin.

I am partial to a dark Choc digestive. But for me it definitely has to be the Jaffa Cake - but surely they don't count as a biscuit?!?

AryaOfHouseSnark Sun 15-Jun-14 21:00:59

A hob nob or digestive is an everyday biscuit, as are the bourbons, garibaldis, squashed fly biscuits custard creams etc.
Jammy dodgers are in the same book and party rings, just good for a kids party buffet.
All butter shortbread, caramel centred chocolate coated lovelies and other such biscuits are for Christmas, high days and holidays.

PinkHamster Sun 15-Jun-14 21:01:18

A jammie dodger is the god of the biscuits.

gordyslovesheep Sun 15-Jun-14 21:01:48

I used to drink orange squash THROUGH malted milks ...omg best thing ever (when you are 7)

annabelcaramel Sun 15-Jun-14 21:02:11

The rich tea is the biscuit of last resort. All hail the custard cream.

NoArmaniNoPunani Sun 15-Jun-14 21:02:22

What's a squashed fly biscuit?

AryaOfHouseSnark Sun 15-Jun-14 21:02:51

No Jaffa cakes don't count as a biscuit, they are a cake because they go hard when they go stale, where biscuits go soft. <nods sagely>

PinkHamster Sun 15-Jun-14 21:03:35

I actually prefer custard creams.

AryaOfHouseSnark Sun 15-Jun-14 21:03:41

Squashed fly biscuits are those shortbread and raisin biscuits with sugar on top.

NoArmaniNoPunani Sun 15-Jun-14 21:06:16

This should be the official MN biscuit
