AIBU?

To think I have super magical powers that others don't

I seem to be able to magically make toothpaste appear out of a tube that everybody else says is empty. I can do this for a couple of weeks at least.

I can also make things appear again when they have "disappeared". Nobody else in my family seem to have this special power.

Aibu to think I am unique?

I have the special power of finding socks in a drawer full of socks. My children, sadly, lack this ability Sad

I am also able to locate hairbrushes, shoes, jackets and homework.

All of these things seem to be invisible to the ordinary person.

I too possess that superpower. In my house I am "Objection - Finder of Things"

I'm also "Objection - The One With The Charged Phone"

I have the power to find things where they have been "looked there and it's definitely not there" as I pick up said item which was hidden in clear view.

Keys I seem to sense where they are. The oddest one was when we were going on holiday and OH grumped at me that he needed to buy a new landing net (fishing) as he couldn't find the old one and he had looked everywhere. Absolutely everywhere. I asked had he looked in the back lobby "I would never have put that there" - just check? Yep it was there (and I hadn't moved it there!)

If my DP cannot find something i usually tell him to look right in front of his face or by his feet. 9/10 it is there.

My power is that when people ask where something is I say that I don't know.
And I also don't help in the search.

I often speak at what I believe is a normal volume ( and sometimes shout). But none of my family can hear me, despite having perfect hearing. It must be some of this magic you speak of.

I am the one with the magic power of opening curtains. I am also the one with the magic power of turning off lights.

Oh I have loads of these.

I am Tantrums- the one who knows that iPhone batteries are shit and you actually have to charge it for more than 30 seconds

Tantrums-the one who knows that there is actually food in the house and not "nothing to eat, anywhere in this house"

Tantrums- the one that knows that the dogs need to be walked

Tantrums- the one who puts everything into her iCloud calendar in order to ensure a reminder goes off on ALL 4 Phones. God forbid anyone else should do it, eh?

Tantrums- the one who knows your Oyster card/bank card/keys are still in your sodding pocket from yesterday and there is no point sitting there saying "but mum I can't fiiiiind it. It is not here"

I have the magic ability to understand how a pen works and thus write things on the family calendar. This is truly unique in our house. It makes me feel like magic.

There was a thread like this a few weeks ago and someone, I can't remember who, came up the a phrase along the lines of I use my fallopian tubes as diving rods to find things - I don't think I have ever laughed at something on MN as much as that Grin

I have the magical ability to know which days the children's homework is due in and coincidentally this informs WHEN THEY HAVE TO DO IT. No-one else can interpret this complex system which is the same every week

I have the singular power of being able to write. On cards. Birthday, Christmas and other occasions. No one else can do this, but I hold my powers back so not to dazzle too much, in fact my ILs haven't had a card from me in 20 years.....

A new tube of toothpaste only lasts two weeks on my house, so this is some kind of voodoo indeed.

Never ever EVER help people who do not have these powers - That way, they will develop their own.

I have the magic power of being able to see through walls eg I know exactly when to enter the room my DCs are doing their homework in to find them on their phone/tablet/watching TV. Of course it could be that they never actually do homework unless I am in the room - which must be another of my magic powers. Grin
I also have the power of knowing who needs to be where at what time and with which kit (including DH...)

I have many of these powers also. Most recently I demonstrated how to find the screwdriver we keep in the kitchen drawer in that self same kitchen drawer after repeated insistence it wasn't there and I must have moved it.

I am also uniquely able to load the car with bags and children and be ready to leave on time rather than forgetting something until the very second the car is about the leave the drive.

I have the superhuman power of having eyes in the back of my head. I can tell instantly if someone is doing something they shouldn't. The fact that in a houseful of usually noisy children Silence is a Bad Thing hasn't really occurred to any of them.
I have no plans to let any of them into my secret Grin
I'm also Finder of Lost Things but have started to make them look themselves.

I can ask a question in English but it miraculously comes out of my mouth in Greek as no-one else in our house understands listens to a word I say!

I can see things in the fridge even when they are behind other things.

Plus, I can remember, over the course of the day, that we will all be hungry at some point in the evening and want a meal, and so buy ingredients in advance. In short, I can 'make stuff happen'. It's pretty cool really.
