AIBU?

To send my sandwich back to be cut up?

Just phoned my husband from the bedroom (struggling with 4 month sleep regression baby) and asked him to make me a sandwich. Tomato puree with ham. Yum yum. Brings it up. . . Whole!!

I made him go back and cut it in half. AIBU or should I have been grateful to get it in the first place?

You can still be grateful and ask him to cut it up so it's easier to eat one handed.

YANBU

You were fed weren't you? It all depends on how you asked or demanded for your sandwich to be cut.

My husband never cuts sandwiches. I find this odd. I would have sent it back too but in a grovelly grateful sort of way.

Yanbu, he should have cut it into four and garnished the plate with fresh parsley.

So you wanted a sandwich and you got a sandwich and then when you were brought a sandwich you said you wanted it cutted up? When he comes back are you going to throw it at the wall because he cutted it up? Hmm

But did you specify that you wanted a cutted up sandwich beforehand?

Oh god this posted twice. Stupid phone. Ignore this one, the other has more posts!

Quite right! Room service definitely wasn't up to scratch!

Hope you made some cutting remarks. (sorry)

It's "cutted up".
And no, YANBU.

Dear god no - YANBU. Who the hell makes a sandwich and then doesn't cut it in 2 at the very least.

Tomato purée?

UABU

I can't get past the purée to address sections.

No yanbu. And did he cut it into 2 rectangles or 2 triangles? Rectangles are horrible.

You might be unreasonable about the filling though, tomato puree in a sandwich?

I wouldn't cut up such an abomination. Sounds far too concentrated tomatoey.

Two threads! I wondered where my post had gone. I was checking facebook to see if I'd posted it as a status!

missknows -at least your thread has been cut into two halves! Well done!

hamwidges should come with salad cream if anything. Not tomato puree.

Catsmamma · 24/05/2014 21:34

yes, we need vital info...did he cut it into triangles or horrible, awful, common rectangles??

Oh this is a disaster. Now this one has more posts. Oh the irony! I wouldn't have even needed a sandwich at all if the mother in law had not forgotten to put the noodles in the stir fry she served up this evening!

Ah, the hamwidge! I wondered when it would make an appearance!

OK... your sandwich filling is disgusting. You need to sort that out!
But... WHO offers a whole sandwich. It's either halved or quartered. It's expected with a sandwich! YANBU (but your filling is!).

It came back in triangles which meant I forgave him for not cutting it in the first place :-)

A stir fry with no noodles?

A not cutted up sandwich?

OP you have had a terrible evening. I find Pinot Grigio helps in these situations.

OP, I would give your better half no quarter on this.

I know, it's not been going well. And now I'm being slated for eating tomato puree. Surely I'm not the only one to have a cheeky squirt straight in the mouth when opening the fridge am I?
