DP just told me he believes in all the conspiracy theories surrounding 9/11 and London bombing.

AIBU to dump him right now for talking bollocks?

Did you not know he was nuts before you married him?

Is he on glue?

Have you checked his temperature? Has he got a fever?

Can he coherently explain why?

If he mentions lizards, I'd leave at once.

Haha. We're not married but we've been going out for two years. I know he's nuts but this is a new one. The moon landing was real though, we're okay on that one.

I'm tempted to ask if he believes in the Easter Bunny...

I kind of believe the 9/11 ones Blush

Is it even possible to believe all the conspiracy theories? Wouldn't it require time-travelling Jewish Muslims with homosexual lizard overlords working for the Masonic lodge?

callamia · 11/05/2014 20:28

ALL of them? That's a lot of conspiracies to believe. Has he eaten some dodgy mushrooms?

Apparently it was the govenment doing it as an excuse to go to war. I'm making this face Hmm and trying not to snort with laughter.

I've seen some extraordinary and seemimgly highly intelligent people fall for the 9/11 conspiracy theories.

On the other hand, I haven't talked to them since I found out.

One of the conspiracy theories over the 9\11 was that no planes ever went into the twin towers somebody I know very well posted this on fb if no planes went into the twin towers and it was all a conspiracy how on earth do they explain people who live in new York personal accounts of that day or the fact that the twin towers don't exist anymore???

Thurlow · 11/05/2014 20:53

And why does he think they that desperately wanted to go to war? Confused

I never understand how on earth people believe that all the hundreds of people required to make a 'conspiracy' like 9/11 or the moon landings have kept quiet for so long and no actual proof has come out. I mean, our government ministers can't even keep their speech notes covered up when walking out of their office.

Moon landings?

Don’t make me laugh.

Everyone who knows where to look and who to ask knows that NASA landed all right, but they landed on Mars.

They will tell you that a trip to Mars would take months and months, not five days, and that radio messages would take twenty-odd minutes, not a second and a half. According to the textbooks that’s right. But NASA had developed a system of instant travel through hyperspace so that once they got into earth orbit they could get into Mars orbit instantaneously and then just land. As for voice messages they had to fake the delay.

OP I’m just surprised you never worked it out for yourself. Good luck with DP.

The critical thing, OP, is whether he can still hack making a decent spaghetti sauce? If not, fear you have no option.

(I refuse to google for the spaghetti sauce conspiracy although I have little doubt there's one out there.)

What about the third tower? How did that fall?

Report

When the lizards take over there'll be no spaghetti sauce. You have been warned.

I have an expectation of a certain level of rational thinking (old age / illness notwithstanding). Does it affect you greatly? Is he down the pub, loudly sharing conspiracy theories with colleagues or is it a bit more discreet?

I love conspiracy theories. Don't believe em, but love em

O dear. I would be concerned that all this would be only the wave of crazy and that before you know it he'll be banging on about shape changing, illuminati dinosaurs.

Everyone loves a good nut Grin cherish him op!

Ok if he starts with the 'Queen is a lizard and the corgis carry her spawn' stuff you may want to get him checked over by a professional.

He wont eat spaghetti. Carbs are bad and cause diabetes and sugar causes heart attacks. Obviously. He reads a lot of crap about food so I'm used to hearing that, annoys the hell out of me TBQFH.

Makes a good curry though. No rice, obviously...

Well in that case I retract my former comment.

He doesn't like carbs? Who doesn't have rice with their curry?! LTB!

(In fact I think he may be one of those lizard people)
