WIBU to complain about dd's new carseat?

We bought DD a new last week and used it yesterday for the first time.

We drove 15mins to our local supermarket, shopped for about half an hour and then drove 15mins home. When we got home she kept rubbing her legs. When I had a look, she had red indents across the back of her legs which looked quite sore and were visibly agitating her. (photo attached)

I have had a look at the car seat and there doesn't seem to be any sticky out bits. Also, the back seats of our car are smooth and don't have any ridges that she could have been resting her legs on to cause it. So I can't work out how it's happened, but I really don't want to use it again if DD is going to keep getting marks on her legs.

WIBU to write to the company to ask if they have had any incidences of similar cases from other customers? WWYD?

? photo . Could the fabric have folded up as she moved her legs ? Are you sure it wasn't caused by something else

what car seat is it and where is the photo?

could it be from a gap between the car seat and the seat of the car. Were her trouser rucked up and digging into the backs of her legs?

which car seat is it ? The level of the marks looks like the point at which legs/feet dangle over the edge of the actual rear seat. It may seem smooth but could be sticky and cause friction if warm.

I think you need to work out what caused the mark before you start going back to the company!

I agree - you cant complain about the seat until you know whether the car seat was the cause of the marks.

Sit her back in it and see where the marks coincide .

LIZS when I went back out to check the seat, the fabric was still under the bottom as it's elasticated and goes under the seat quite far, so when there's weight on the seat, you can't move the fabric.

It's this seat.

Her trousers were flat to her legs too and weren't bunched up at all. I've been through the whole lot in my head and can't work it out!

Will have another look at her in it tonight to double check our back seats, but she didn't have this trouble with her last seat and her legs came down to the same point in the car

Unless she's very short her knees would be close to or off the edge of the seat surely. Unless the mark lines up with the green trim I don't think it can be the culprit

It looks like it could be a mark from the green piping on the seat - would that line up with the marks?

sit her in it and see where her legs sit in relation to the green piping on the seat

Thank you for the suggestions, we took this photo of her having a try out. Her legs are bent in the photo, but where the marks are on her legs line up with the green line. Will double check it with her in it tonight when DP is home from work. I don't want to make a mountain out of a mole hill, but its been playing on my mind all night and if it's causing marks now, it'll just continue to do it as she grows.

No useful advice here OP but she does have very cute squidgy legs!

Put a folded up blanket under her legs.

Or rub across the piping with something like a wooden spoon to soften it up.

Could the marks have come from sitting in the shopping trolley?
