Do you know it's a hoax and not a real story? If you look at her page she seems like a perfectly normal woman just trying to get the hat back. I would have done the same.

I'm pretty sure it's real. It's been featured in a few newspapers and quotes an incident number etc. also going through her Facebook it looks genuine to me.
