It's all opinion though - no-one's posting in a professional capacity and the essayists usually don't find their threads attract much interest grin

Mitchy1nge Mon 31-Mar-14 19:55:31

you are being unreasonable to even think about more topics

there are so many now, it's ridiculous

MammaTJ Mon 31-Mar-14 19:56:43

It is an opinion forum all over, surely!

TheDoctrineOfSnatch Mon 31-Mar-14 19:57:04

Well unless I post then its a fact

Ummmm, maybe not, should we discuss it and get other peoples opinions? Oh, MammaTJ says yes, so yes we should!

We have loads of forums already. And too many unsolicited opinions!

I think people should use the topics more (but only rarely point this out of threads, as you do tend to get slagged off for it).

If posters don't want everything in IBU, then the answer is at their own fingertips - start your threads in a suitable topic. Then they won't be tumbleweed.

too many unsolicited opinions

X-ed with OP's last.

Perhaps people should be more vocal in asking posters who appear to be just loading everything in AIBU to ask to have them moved to the right place? Like all the blooming Royal threads?

It wouldn't work.

Babycentre tried it, first with a thingy called The Burning Question (ended in bunfights and flounces and accusations of bullying at least 489 times a day (bullying in this case = someone disagreeing with your opinion) and arses putting their benefit scroungers should be shot attitudes up as "opinions" and trying to intellectualise them.

Then they tried a proper "Debate" which was all very Oxbridge and people fought with buns and flounced and called each other bullies all over again.

Now they have What's Your Opinion. Or AIBU/burning question/debate dressed in Emperor's New Clothes.

You've completely missed point mn is an opinion forum from horses to mil,to adultery
Doesn't need an opinion topic and if you're too wussy fir aibu, don't post there
Go meander to g&t or style(literally handbags at dawn) nothing contentious ever happens there
