To ask what age ur LO walked?

My LO is one in Saturday. He is cruising, but can't stand by himself. He shows no interest in walking by holding my hands. He will go on his walker, but doesn't really show an interest in wanting to.

What age did ur LO walk? What signs did u see that they were ready?

I know not to compare, but feel like he's been cruising forever, and isn't making any progress.

Mine were both cruising for quite a while before they suddenly started walking, which for both of them was the week before their first birthdays. But I think that is on the early side - average is meant to be 13-14 months, from what I remember.

16 months! And he's NT.

My son walked at 10 months. He started crawling at 9 months then within a month learnt to cruise and then walk.

Around the time he turned one, from what I remember. He had also been cruising for a while, and one day, he just ran the entire length of our long kitchen out of the blue, and nearly gave me a heart attack because I was taking a boiling hot lasagne out of the oven, with my back turned, with no idea he would be able to reach me as there was nothing to 'cruise' on.

I will add that though my son learnt to walk early he has many other issues including speech and reading difficulties so it really doesn't mean much!

I have 3, DC1 was 13 months, DC2 was 10 months and DC3 was 17 months (but she'd spent 6 months having treatment for hip dysplasia so her slight delay wasn't unexpected!)

They are all different. Talk to your HV if you are worried but if he's cruising then he's heading in he right direction.

11 months started, 14 months walled confidently. However I have friends whose LOs walked perfectly at ten months and friends with LOs who aren't walking at 18 months. Normal is a very broad range!

Anything up to 18 months and beyond is still on the average scale, if there are no other signs of a problem

If he is cruising it sounds like you have nothing to worry about so try to relax and make the most of this time with your non walking baby

DS2 - is 10 months tomorrow and is cruising but can't get his balance so think he'll be a month or two off yet

Dd cruised or walked holding on to my hands from 7m went solo at 11m. Ds cruised about 9m and went solo at 10m.

19 months! Even randoms in the park were being rude about it. He talked before he walked.

NT is 'neurotypical' i.e. without any disability or special needs.

DS took his first steps a couple of weeks after turning 1. Was walking confidently and in shoes a month later.

DD aged 9 months. She cruised first, but got bored of that quickly. She didn't stay 'advanced' in the physical coordination stakes, ballet classes were cute but on a path to no where...

9 months. He never crawled, just shuffled over to the sofa,pulled himself up and took off. He looked like one of those walking dolls because he was so small. He started cruising at around 8.5 months and had it sussed with 2/3 weeks.

Mine was cruising for ages and ages. Loved being in his walker, no inclination to take steps on his own I was thinking exactly the same as you OP. He was 14 months before he decided he wanted to play with the football one day and walked over to pick it up.
My niece never even really cruised but at 15 months decided it was time to walk and she did the whole length of the kitchen. Just one of those things they do when they're good and ready I think and don't necessarily show any signs they're going to do it!

Also DD2 was the only one who went in a walker so I don't no if that was why she walked a few months later than the others.

My DD 9 months, DS on his first birthday the show off. My friends DD 18 months and her DS 20 months. All normal range.

Sounds like your LO is well on the way if he is cruising. Please don't worry about it, but ask your HV if you have any concerns.

DTS cruised for ages from about 10 months and walked at about 14-15 months.

DS3 walked at 10 months and 4 days, no cruising. He really ran before he could walk!

Don't panic. NT means 'neuro typical'. He is well within normal timeframes.

DD1 the day before her first birthday. She spent her birthday running round my parents garden.
DD2 was between 13/14 months.

DS was 13 months - he cruised for ages before that and then one day just let go and took a step and it seemed as if he was running up the hall within 24 hours. He never did all 4s crawling though - it was more Indian crawling with his legs behind him using his arms.

DD was 16 months - and crawled on all fours for ages and ages but she didn't cruise. Instead she spent about a week perfecting getting up from sitting without holding on to anything. It was quite funny and she seemed to completely exhaust herself but she didn't give up. Eventually she did it and balanced and just put one foot in front of the other and that was it.

Two children out of the same pod and they learnt completely differently.
