last year i booked a weeks hoildays at a haven park for the first week of the easter hoildays. (i had orgionally wanted one for the summer hols but they where almost tripple the price, but thats another thread!)

any way iv managed to with hold from telling the kids, but i want to tell them today. but in a fun way.. the kids have a birthday party to go to that finish's at 3 so was thinking of telling them we have to go to the "big" tescos to choose some hoilday tops.. seeing as were going on hoilday in 8 days!

i dont want a massive thing but i do want to do something, we've had 1 hoilday in 8 years, last bening a caravan to, so i want to make really special. so if you h ave any more ideas on how i could do it? id appriciate it lol Wink

the aibu bit
that said iv had a good friend say im being overthe top and it'll ruin it for them.. making it out to be somethign its not kind of thing? will i?

Sounds like a nice idea, as long as you can bear 8 days of them being over excited! Of course you won't ruin it!

i had just wanted to tell them on the day.. but had some one mention half the fun is the build up to it..which is why i left it a week before we go.. there at school most the time so it shouldnt be too bad lol.

My kids love the build up to a holiday especially a caravan one!
Mine love to choose a holiday magazine and sweets for the journey it's the only time they get one so your tshirt idea is a great one!

Have a fab holiday

Mum played hangman or scramble words with me to tell me if we were going to the cinema! She loved making me work for surprises! Another time she wound string all round the house (under the bed, into the bath etc) and at the end were my birthday presents. Or pass the parcel with a clue in each layer? Film this evening, big bowl of popcorn and hide the information in an envelope at the bottom for them to find? I think of some more soon

thank you.. i feel a bit more "secure" that it will be special. dam anxity can make even the most simpliest of things harder than need be.

mrsjay i love that idea, and was my orgional thought when i booked it,

prettykitty i also love the scrabble idea, though mine are a bit young for that.. i shall have to to do that in a few years i think. i quite liek the string idea aswell!.. though my flat is tiny so would be tricky Hmm

thank you Flowers

well i told em... we went up n down the toy alse untill we got to the buckets n spades.. when i asked em to pick a set up and scan, they kind of looked at me oddly and asked why as we have some at home. i than asked them why do you need them.. my eldest got it straighter away the look of sheer happiness was awesome!
my 5 year old didnt quite get it untill i said we where going to see roary for 7 days.. the last time we went we got him a roary teddy and it hasnt left his side since., think re stiched legs andf in terriable need of washing.. his first request was to buy roary another friend from there.

than i let them pick out a couple of tops.. ones that i wouldnt normally buy.. £9 for a bloody chactor top i tell you... maddness.

but its been a great day, talking about the stuff we can do. crazy gold is a must apprently Grin

uretha .. im quite proud of myself for keeping my gob shut tbh, iv made do by counting down the days till ic ould tell them lol.
