to prepare a list of jobs for our new cleaner

We have finally bitten the bullet and taken on a cleaner. We (the cleaner and I) agreed in principle that some jobs would be done each week and others just from time to time. Would it be reasonable to prepare a list each week and ask her to work through the list and do whatever she can manage in 3 hours (and explain that it's fine if she doesn't complete the list as anything she doesn't do this week goes to the top of the list for the following week)? Grateful for any help / advice how to approach this.

Yes, do it. Eliminates all manner of carping on both sides.

Sounds good to me.

Colour code the list.

Red is a must, green is extra and pick one from the list.

Red for me would be bathroom, hoovering, dusting, mopping and such.

Green would be kitchen cupboards, windows ( inside only)

We did this and whilst it did avoid some issues the cleaner I had (in fact this happened twice in a row) just ignored the list and did what they wanted to do, ignoring the jobs they didn't like. Did make them easier to sack though.
