I can't see the harm personally, she just wants to be like mum! The question is will she sit still long enough or wander off and end up with odd finger nails :)

Am sure there will be plenty disagreeing with me though.

I think it's a bit odd Confused but I'm not sure why!

I would.

Do you have any plans today/tomorrow? You could always just tell her it's for 1 night only.

If you want to do it, why not? Nice bit of mummy DD time.

If she wants it done I think it's fine . Different if your forcing perfectly manicured nails on her Grin

Nail polish is a bit toxic for little kids though. Can you get the water based peel off stuff for her instead?

Ah nothing wrong with it! My almost 3yr old loves when I do her nails, multicolored etc. Recently got her some peel off stuff in Claire's so she can do her own and mine. I don't see the problem at all.

How about a comprimise and paint her toe nails?

Will you let her go to school with nail varnish on? In that case YABU IMO.

It's usually against school dress codes at secondary school so why not primary?

French polish is slightly more classy than coloured varnish

My gut reaction is not to like the idea but maybe I am bu because I'm not sure why! Maybe like you said feels a bit grown up?

I use a french manicure set, not to make my nails stand out, but to make them look natural. Without close scrutiny you wouldn't tell that I've even got it on. They just look shiny. :)

Ive been painting my sons nails since he was 12 months old.

Why would you bother have children if you cant paint them? Shock

She goes all the time with polish on, and there is certainly no code at the local girls high school they all are plastered in make up long manicired fingers and perfectly coiffed hair.

There is absolutely not harm in painting your child's nails. I've painted my kids nails many times but then I am a fully trained nail tech and my kids were often used as models, even my son liked having his done! Nothing like black polish and white zebra stripes to hang out with your mates Wink
My daughter is wanting me to give her a set of acrylics over the summer hol's, I've talked her into having gel instead and once again it's something I can do for her.

Just use the clear on her, she'll be happy enough with shiny nails

I have many nail vanishes, if DD wants her nails painted I will do them for her.
