...to feel strongly that women should not wash their private parts with soap, nor use feminine freshness wipes?

And the reason this is bothering me now is because I have had an argument with my (otherwise lovely) "waxing technician" because every time I go for a brazilian she insists on wiping me, inside my vagina after every spread of wax, with these packeted wipes.

How is it that we are in 2014 and the medical profession has not done a good enough job to make women aware that using products which remove the oils/mucous from places like the urethra/vagina/anus, causes problems with bacterial infection?

I'm more concerned she's wiping inside your vagina. Surely that's not a normal part of a wax?!

Um

she ought not be doing that Shock

Why is is that in 2014 women feel the need to be sprawled, legs akimbo to have their natural body hair painfully removed in the first place.

But don't you want to be bald and beautiful, inside and out?
Presumably the wipes are expensively designed to not cause the issues you are concerned about.
Oh look, soap-free. Luvverly

She is assaulting you if she is wiping inside, unless you consented to this?

Come on people, it is a medical truth, that soaps/wipes mess up the mucous membrane!

This is not a debate about why I wax, it's a debate about why it is not widely known that soaps/wipes mess up the mucous membranes

If you haven't asked to be wiped in that area why are you letting her carry on? You do understand that you have the right to refuse.

Good god. Inside you? Really? That's obscene.

Do you mean inside your vagina?! Or do you actually mean just between your flaps as it were?

Other than that I agree with your sentiments, unless one particularly enjoys thrush, BV etc

Trifle because I like it, I don't do it for DH or to be what society thinks is normal. I do it for myself.

Surely the insides of your vag don't need wiping before waxing.

I always wash down below, the last time I had thrush was in pregnancy 5 years ago.

When you say inside, do you mean inside!?

This is like that episode of friends when Joey discovers that not all tailors do 'cupping'.

Lots of crap messes up your body, inside and out. Doesn't stop women determined to arse about from exercising their free will.
Did you know that high heels are bad for your feet too?

Goblinchild "medical" it says. Because it contains a chemical!

Water is all we need!

I wouldn't feel clean if I just used water.

So she is inserting wipes inside your vagina?

I'm confused.

Your waxist is either very wierd or thinks you're a bit manky down there.

Anyway, YABVU. It is not to business to feel anything strongly about what I do or don't do to my private parts.

Fwiw, I've washed my bits with soap or shower gel pretty much every day, and I've managed to make it to my mid thirties without ever having had a problem with my mucous membranes.

It just seems strange that someone who has their pubic hair ripped out, wants to tell other women how they should look after their bodies Hmm

You're the one paying for this service. Tell her that if she uses medicated wipes on your person again despite clearly being asked not to, you will not be paying the bill and will be making adverse comments about the service you received at that salon on every advertising website they use, starting with their FB page.

If you really have to wash - it is sometimes necessary - ask GP for dermol solution. Tis wonderful. Have used it for washing for years and it's lovely/softening..

But to the OP - I'm sure she shouldn't be cleaning the inside or indeed even needing to look at that bits, Brazilian or not!
