So is it every child from this school who behaves like this?

Or is it a small minority?

You say the other schools' pupils also "swarm a bit" ? And shift slightly?

Sounds like six and half-a-dozen to me.

Not at all.

Kicking out time behavior is a classic litmus test for school ethos.

Just say "excuse me" and off you go. The local high school kids to that too, and most of the time they are oblivious to other pedestrians. I like it when they say things like "shift, idiot" and drag each other out of the way.

These kids move, apologise and say "you're welcome" when you thank them.

So contact the school - if they don't know about the issue the they can't try to do something about it. They'd have an assembly about behaviour in the community at the very least.

We have a local school who's pupils just don't understand roads.

Honestly, they just wander off pavements and in front of cars.

Admittedly some are looking at phones, etc but mostly they're eyes are free but they still just step in front of cars.

Weird.

Other schools are fine.

NewtRipley Thu 20-Mar-14 19:21:28

Do they refuse to let people through, or are they just unaware?

Have you tried asking?

Also, maybe you've noticed a difference because the place you meet these kids is nearer their school?

I am wondering what else could account for the difference - what's your theory, OP?

yes we have this, one day I had to put my hand out to stop a boy falling into my babys pushchair and he said " Fuck off dont you dare fucking touch me" they all light up the second they are on the pavement play footy in the road, tip bins over its chaos.

I think you need to get out more, but not between 3.00 pm and 4.30 pm.

Several boys at DDs school are only still alive because it is impossible to go very fast past the school or through the town high street because its very narrow and you have to weave in and out of parked cars.

DD1 thinks this is a great shame as she say's the worst offenders are no less dippy in class.
