Horse poo update (for those who care)

Today I was in my garden admiring the lovely weather and I got a waft of stink coming over into my nostrils. I walked around the patio trying to smell where it was coming from and it led me to the neighbours fence.

Went running upstairs into my bedroom and looked out the window and there it was. The big pile of shit sitting on their grass in the sunlight. So they took.

They don't have roses so God knows what they plan to do with it.

Anyway, I'm not suprised it wasn't the horse rider who picked it up. She had no intention to either, the cheeky cow.

I'll be thinking of you every week from probably next week when the shit starts hitting the fan round here.

I live in a village with fields all around and yet they feel the need to come down the blummin road and the horse just loves to dump its load. We are about 1/2 mile from the yard. It is soooo fecking annoying as it smeeeeeeeears everywhere and is just rank.

I'm not getting back into that debate but you can't get off a horse shift poo and get back on... you just can't... do you carry a shovel attached to saddle for heaven's sake?

Cigarettesandsmirnoff Sun 09-Mar-14 19:29:23

Yep I thought of you when two horseriders rode side by side creating a fuckng back up.

They both thought it was funny though.

PublicEnemyNumeroUno Sun 09-Mar-14 19:29:24

Lol thanks for the update grin

Cigarettesandsmirnoff Sun 09-Mar-14 19:30:53

Shouldn't ride them in front of people's homes then.

Adeleh Sun 09-Mar-14 19:31:28

Enlightened - you my just have started the debate again grin. Good for you - it was an excellent thread!

Horse poo doesn't stink ... it smells a little compost-y ...

mousmous Sun 09-Mar-14 19:33:39

I'm the one running outside with a bucket to collect the football police horses offerings.

WowserBowser Sun 09-Mar-14 19:34:57

BigRedBall That was my favourite thread ending EVA

May I introduce you to the portable horse poo shovel
Anything is possible. wink.

Yes LaBelle, compost doesn't exactly smell like roses does it? confused.

WaxyDaisy Sun 09-Mar-14 19:36:35

I saw horses in the US that had a special sort of sling under their bum to catch the poo. They were on duty in an urban area and it looked like a good idea to me! They were emptied, of course, but just not onto the Tarmac.

"Bunbag" grin

It can't possibly still smell. It's been warm and dry so it will have dried out by now. Are you sure this is the same sample?

songlark Sun 09-Mar-14 19:39:17

In Blackpool the landau horses have to wear big nappys.

MyBodyIsAtemplate Sun 09-Mar-14 19:39:58

but it doesn't stink like real poo, smells like a compost heap.

mind you I don't really like horses that much, bit too scary.

Ledkr Sun 09-Mar-14 19:41:01

Maybe she's planted some roses and is awaiting their growth to apply the matured manure to!

Allergictoironing Sun 09-Mar-14 19:42:06

I live in a village with fields all around and yet they feel the need to come down the blummin road

Erm that could be because the fields are private property, so they aren't free to just ride on them if it takes their fancy. Otherwise they would be able to ride across your nice garden wink

TSSDNCOP Sun 09-Mar-14 19:46:38

Oh dear lord, different day same old shit.

gordyslovesheep Sun 09-Mar-14 19:47:11

yes loads of old horse shit!

Blu Sun 09-Mar-14 19:50:34

They shouldn't be riding on the pavement or leaving shit on the pavement. Horseshit on the road is OK, though.

OP, do you think you are suited to living best to a farm?
