AIBU?

To think the person in charge of 'belts' at M&S should be sacked?

I bought a perfectly nice pair of black Pee Una jeans last week. With a plastic fake tigerskin belt that went straight in the bin. What a waste of money.

Per Una has gone to the dogs. Were the jeans at least nice?

Hasn't per una always been at the dogs, Lego?!

As for belts that come with stuff, they are almost always shoite, ime.

I hate most per una stuff but have bought the odd pair of their slim jeans. What's particularly annoying about the crap belt issue is that the (old) m&s website was FULL of reviews saying that the belts are rubbish & that people don't want them. M&S just seems to ignore customer opinion as a matter of course - probably one of the reasons they're not doing very well in terms of clothing.

On the subject of m&s belts, I've bought a couple of decent leather belts from there, but the sizing is bizarre. I'm 12-14 on the bottom - supposedly should need medium in their belts - but they're sodding HUGE. Have had to buy in size small, which makes me wonder what a size 6/8 would do - except not shop at m&s, presumably.

My issue isn't the belts themselves but where they sit on dresses. On me they are always resting around my second to bottom rib rather than on my actual waist. I am five foot five, not a giant!!

Why are the waists on their dresses so ridiculously high?

Waists on their dresses have always been too high. The last time I bought a dress there was 1995. Perhaps their clothes are made for shorter people regardless of their dress size ...........

I don't know about that, ninetynine, I did get a rather nice skirt there in, ahem, about 2001...

Yes, I'm 5'6" and really struggle with waist on their dresses. I have a small waist, I'd quite like to show it off rather than have it hidden under the top of the skirt while the 'waist' sits around my ribs!

I am particularly fond of m and s as it is where i go to buy my mothers clothes. it saves me a lo tof hassle to go to the one shop and get the style that she likes. they sort of change the clour a little or the belt a little but basically it has been the same for decades and it is fabulous. the fabric is a little thin though. that would be because they are the spring trousers mother.

Interesting to see the comments about the waist sitting too high for some people. I am a size 12/14 and 5'4" and I find this in mist high street shops, not just M&S. It's really annoying-when I sit down they rise up even more and make me look like I am wearing maternity clothes. Phase 8 is the only brand that seems to get it right.

Have any other low waisters out there found other brands to suit?

Slightly off topic, but I went on the M & S website which seems to be have been updated. Its awful, I found it really difficult to navigate as it kept opening up various pages i didn't want. I'm guessing that they've designed it to be friendly to use with a tablet but I found it difficult on my laptop.
My DD's school uses M & S for their uniform so I wanted to order a new jumper with school logo but couldn't find the link to that part of the website at all. I ended up emailing them and they did put a link on the email to where I needed to go. However, I still can't see a link on the website and they didn't say where on the website the link is so I'm guessing its actually missing at the moment. Perhaps they are they planning on emailing all parents individually with this information?

Also on the email it said if I had any comments I could reply via the link - then there was no link. You could see where the mail merge for the link was supposed to go but obviously forgotten to actually add it.

Really poor service.

I had a couple of basics I needed so ended up going onto John Lewis website instead.
