AIBU?

To ask DH not to belch in my face.

Seriously. He can't even have a sip of water without it being followed by a burp.
It's gotten so bad that I don't wanna kiss him for fear of being belched on.
I've spoken to him about it and he says he can't help it. I know he doesn't do it on purpose but it's very annoying.

I am 34 weeks pg so am particularly over sensitive to it at the moment.

I rarely burp. It's like we are at opposite ends of the burp spectrum.

Anyone else's DH or DP have this problem?

No, but it doesn't sound right. Has he seen a doctor? That would put me right off.

Sounds like a mannerless oaf.

Poor bloke, he's only burping! I thought this was going to be a thread about a dickish bloke who specifically goes out of his way to burp in your face!

How vile for you. He needs to go to his GP if you believe it isn't deliberate.

Whether it's deliberate or not isn't the point, what a turn off. Tell him he needs to go to the doctor.

My DW does, bless her. Can;t help burping, same with DS who has inherited the trait. I'm like you, rarely burp.

Does he drink a lot of fizzy drinks? I used to work with a guy who drank a lot of coke so he burped a lot. It used to drive me crazy as well.

"Opposite end of the burp spectrum" Grin

I have nothing constructive to add other than my appreciation for that sentence.

He does drink a lot if fizzy drinks. He has been to the doctor after I begged him. Doc found nothing wrong. Maybe it is a genetic thing. FIL has an awful lot if wind too.
He doesn't apologise for it. He gets angry at me for walking away or stopping a cuddle if he does it.
I think maybe I should suggest cutting the fizzy drinks.

As I said, mannerless oaf.

'He gets angry at me for walking away or stopping a cuddle if he does it.'

Tell him burps smell. It's no different to you farting in his face during a cuddle.

He is being disgusting.

He can stop it. Does he do this in his boss face?

He is being an arse hole. Dp used to lean forward after a big glug of fizzy pop and pull a face like stop it and tidy up.

He also started farting a lot and it turned me off him big time.

He got banned from both, if he can hold them in work he sure ain't doing it in front of me.

It's actually made me mad thinking about it! Lol

Dp used to try belch like a fucking gorilla and then squeeze a fart out that sounded like a wasp because he forced it out.

Lots of disgusted faces, sleeping in spare room and no sex worked.vfunny that.

This.

I never burped at all til I was about 23. Eben now it's pretty seldom, but I do notice if I'm in any way full after eating I'll feel like it and defo after fizzy drinks.

I do find it pretty gross, almost worse than farting, and if my DH did it in an obvious and deliberate way, I wouldn't fancy him any more. Harsh but true!

Maybe fart in his face?

Report
NoArmaniNoPunani · 07/03/2014 15:27

I would pin him down and fart on his head.

I burp lots. I mean LOTS. Turned out I had gallstones - does he get a lot of indigestion? Had my gallbladder removed now, but I still burp a hell of a lot more than the average person, I'm afraid.

I occasionally burp ON my DH. I am an oaf, but I'm not mannerless.

It will be the fizzy drinks. I had a bit of Diet Coke habit and was a walking bag of gas - there was a notable improvement when I cut down to only 2 cans a day.

Haha loving the farting in face suggestions! Although I think DH himself would find that more amusing than offensive. I often ask him if he would do it infront of his boss. He says he tries not to. Just wish he cared what I thought about him as much!!!

I think it can be a habit for some people. Kick him out until he stops.

I'd say the same if he smoked.
