Just that really. She is staying at the moment and everything is okey-frigging-cokey. I know I'm being intolerant and unreasonable but it's really irritating....

You need to take her 'okey cokey' and raise it to a cheery 'okey dokey pig in a pokey!'. Out-annoy her. It's the only way she'll learn.

I have a friend who used to say 'or whatever" at the end of every sentence. Or whatever. Whether it made sense or not. Or whatever. So, in order to ensure her continued survival, I gently and lovingly trained her out of it.
or whatever...

My colleague says okey cokey! It also makes me want to commit murder.

Glad I'm not alone.

Simply give her an electric shock every time she does it. Train it out of her.

My otherwise quite sane and reasonable ExH has his mobile pre-programmed so that when he types OK in a text it gets sent as "Okily Dokily".

He knows my views on this, in some considerable detail.

Reminds me of Pauline from The League of Gentlemen oakey cokey pig in a pokie ! Does your sister in law like pens??

Report
MintyChops · 01/03/2014 09:37

Perhaps okily dokily punchy facey would cure her? So so glad you all hate it too, thought I was being really intolerant!

You need to show her a clip of Pauline from the League of Gentlemen. That will shut her up. Ask her is she an egregious person.

Ha ha ha, these are great. At least I want to laugh at her now instead of chokily dokily-ing her....

Oh dear God I say every single one of these - except cool beans which is surely far far worse??

Report
Crowler · 01/03/2014 10:30

"Cool beans" should be criminalized. My former manager at a major consultancy used to say this in customer presentations. It was cringe-inducing.

YABU

Just because she thought of saying "okey cokey" before you, is no need to feel envious.

Join in and say "rightio" as well

I used to work with a guy who said 'okey dokesssss' every single time he spoke ... made me want to throw my chair at him.
