Just that really. She is staying at the moment and everything is okey-frigging-cokey. I know I'm being intolerant and unreasonable but it's really irritating....

You need to take her 'okey cokey' and raise it to a cheery 'okey dokey pig in a pokey!'. Out-annoy her. It's the only way she'll learn.

Or okey dokey artichokey.

Weathergames Sat 01-Mar-14 08:43:17

I have a friend who says "Coolio" grin

Only1scoop Sat 01-Mar-14 08:44:09

My dp says 'okey cokey' I absolutely hate it. Makes me want to strike him blush

Nevercan Sat 01-Mar-14 08:44:36

Maybe she doesn't know she does it. Next time she says it say you are only allowed to say that 3 times a day lol

Respond with... "Ohhh okey cokey cokey Ohhhh okey cokey cokey!! Knees bend arms strech yeah yeah yeah!!"

Chocotrekkie Sat 01-Mar-14 08:59:15

Oakily dokily smile

moondog Sat 01-Mar-14 08:59:47

Loving the suggested responses!

I have a friend who used to say 'or whatever" at the end of every sentence. Or whatever. Whether it made sense or not. Or whatever. So, in order to ensure her continued survival, I gently and lovingly trained her out of it.
or whatever...

HellonHeels Sat 01-Mar-14 09:07:43

My colleague says okey cokey! It also makes me want to commit murder.

Glad I'm not alone.

Simply give her an electric shock every time she does it. Train it out of her.

diamondlizard Sat 01-Mar-14 09:17:34

lol i think its quite sweet really

Hassled Sat 01-Mar-14 09:21:22

My otherwise quite sane and reasonable ExH has his mobile pre-programmed so that when he types OK in a text it gets sent as "Okily Dokily".

He knows my views on this, in some considerable detail.

BullieMama Sat 01-Mar-14 09:34:59

Reminds me of Pauline from The League of Gentlemen oakey cokey pig in a pokie ! Does your sister in law like pens??

MintyChops Sat 01-Mar-14 09:37:32

Perhaps okily dokily punchy facey would cure her? So so glad you all hate it too, thought I was being really intolerant!

weirdthing Sat 01-Mar-14 10:16:36

You need to show her a clip of Pauline from the League of Gentlemen. That will shut her up. Ask her is she an egregious person.

Crowler Sat 01-Mar-14 10:19:07

Cool beans.

MintyChops Sat 01-Mar-14 10:25:00

Ha ha ha, these are great. At least I want to laugh at her now instead of chokily dokily-ing her....

eeetheygrowupsofast Sat 01-Mar-14 10:27:28

Oh dear God I say every single one of these - except cool beans which is surely far far worse?? <clutches at straws>

Crowler Sat 01-Mar-14 10:30:29

"Cool beans" should be criminalized. My former manager at a major consultancy used to say this in customer presentations. It was cringe-inducing.

claig Sat 01-Mar-14 10:32:28

Just because she thought of saying "okey cokey" before you, is no need to feel envious.

Join in and say "rightio" as well

figgypuddings Sat 01-Mar-14 10:36:17

She has forced 'Okie from Muskogee' into my head. <passes laudinum>

DuchessFanny Sat 01-Mar-14 11:31:57

I used to work with a guy who said 'okey dokesssss' every single time he spoke ... made me want to throw my chair at him.
