I moved house 2 years ago.
The clinic I attend know this. They sent out letters to my new address. Except for the key one with all my health details etc.
That went to my old address. As this was not the first time I'd been mucked around, I complained to the Information Governance team.

Today - I receive a letter from the clinic. An important one. Sent to my old address. Luckily the person who lived there sent it on.

I rang up the clinic and the person said it was her fault and she would change the records.

I have phoned up the Information Governance team again who were not impressed.

I should just go to the clinic and do it for them.

That is so rubbish - you should get them to send a dummy letter of the kind that they keep getting wrong in order to ensure that the correct part of the database is now being pulled through. It sounds like they are using two separate systems to create these letters, which is worrying considering you'd have thought basic things like addresses would be linked between the two.

What gets me is that I've told them. The information governance team have told them.

And they still can't do it.

If you miss an appointment, you lose your place at the clinic.

DF used to make her twice yearly eye appointments in Bristol using her parents address. They couldn't cope with her being at university in a separate city and she just didn't get sent appointments for her local hospital.
