men, out in public wearing jogging bottoms

is it not the male equivalent of a woman going out without a bra?

dh wears joggers around the house, but he wouldn't go out in them, and he puts jeans on if we have visitors, but the number of men out in them seems to be increasing. am i just being a prude?

put it away or at least wear more supportive underwear!

It's not the tracksuit bottoms that annoys me to be honest. It's when they have them on and walk around with one had inside clutching or reassuring themselves they actually have their bollocks.

Yanbu it looks very Confused. I agree put a decent pair of pants on.

Surely it's the male equivalent of women going out in jogging bottoms?

If it is the free range nature of their tackle which is bothering you, that isn't the fault of the jogging bottoms but their unsupportive underwear, surely?

YANBU OP, there have been times I've been on public transport opposite a man in jogging bottoms, legs splayed - ugh. I swear you could conduct a thorough anatomy lesson without the need to remove any items of clothing at times...

Eew, yes. Not very discrete. Like a builder's bum in reverse.

Surely the main time a man should be wearing jogging bottoms is when they are outside in public erm jogging?

I hate myself for looking but my eyes are dragged there by my subconscious !

Agree that if you are a man actually jogging you'd be wearing firm pants under the joggers.

They are so clingy aren't they!

What are they wearing? Yoga pants?!

My dh has been known to be out in public in his joggers - popping into the shop on his way back from the gym for instance. There is no way to see anything, they're heavyweight comfortable joggers for running and weightlifting in! I've never seen this phenomenon of which you speak.

agree it's ok to wear joggers when jogging, but this was in tesco this morning, 3 blokes, all hanging loose and showing off their wares.

Oh field be grateful you've not seen it. The worst are the cheapy light grey ones - just seems to emphasise everything more.

In fact, I've just realised that seeing men in joggers is so bad I've subconsciously formed a list of "worst offenders" in my head. How worrying.

I'm used to cyclists and runners so probably don't really notice men in sports wear much. I've never been that affected by the type of trousers a man wears but can tend to live in my own little world a bit when out.

You know men are often completely unaware of this.

I will often go out without a bra on a weekend though so maybe am more relaxed about public dress standards than many.

nipersvest · 26/02/2014 10:56

it's even worse when it's teamed with the 'low slung waistband showing off the underpants at the back' look.

Round here they like to have one hand down their pants holding on to their tackle.

I assume because joggers offer little support?

Confused

That bloke might well be going jogging, he's in a park. No that picture doesn't bother me, apart from to make me wonder why Martin is going round photographing men's crotches

But nipersvest that pic isn't of joggers...there's an opening at the front, they look like the Unqlo long johns I got for the ds's!
I am really not a fan of the grey sweatshirty fabric jogging bottoms being worn outside the house, unless you are actually doing some kind of sporting activity - but I've never noticed the problem of them being so revealing. I just think they're a bit scruffy!
I suspect the problem has more to do with what is, or isn't, being worn underneath them.

I was 29 years old when I discovered this.

It made sense of a few things, to be honest.

I really never notice what people are wearing. And I have to say, my eyes don't really go near the crotch area.

When I am out I am just trying to get back home again asap. No time for oogling. :o
