AIBU?

to think this is a bit precious

Just had ex on phone asking for a t-shirt back after DS had worn it. I said it was in the wash and he'd get it back when he next saw DS. On Tuesday.

DS does not need the top today. He had it on yesterday and I put in the wash. As you do.

It's not like I'm going to steal it. I know he brought it but we are quite good at sharing clothes and making sure they're clean.

Giving him the benefit of the doubt and assuming he isn't completely bonkers, maybe someone gave it to him as a present and he had to make sure they see your DS wearing it?

He has no plans to see anyone.
Ex gave it to DS.

It's perfectly safe in the machine.

He's bonkers then. Sorry.

Well - it must be back by Tuesday.

Just a little bit controlling.

That's precious alright!
Ex had kept DDs clothes for two weeks running but sent her back in new clothes (but not really as practical /handy as the stuff I'd bought for her) so I just said when she was going with him yesterday, I didn't pack a change of clothes because you still have the last two, is that okay? Hope I didn't sound arsey, this Co parenting thing can be a right pain in the arse sometimes!

It's very precious, because the shirt belongs to your son, who should be entitled to wear it anywhere he chooses. My kids have clothes both here and at their dads. There's stuff here that he bought and stuff there that I bought including, I suspect, half my socks

My ex gets very precious about stuff he's bought for the kids. He has sent them back in school uniform before rather than send them back in anything he has bought. Have to admit I won't send kids to his in any clothes that have been bought as gifts.
