To want a more specific time than just 'this afternoon"?

Workman coming today. The letting agency will only specify 'sometime this afternoon" - which could be anytime from 12 till 5ish I'd imagine. I feel they should be able to give a more specific time so i don't have to hang around the house for possibly 5 hours with the kids. AIBU or should I phone and ask for a more specific time?

Ring them and tell you them you need to go out and don't want to miss him or waste his journey so can they be more specific.
Why didn't you ask them to be more specific when they told you this? (or did you?)

Ah well, turned up just after 12 and is well gone - so good result.
