To ask how you get out of a bad mood.

Been I a rotten mood for a while now, I am not sure if it's this constant rain. The DC playing up because we have run out of rainy day activities or the fact the house is always a tip.

I just feel like I am always in a bad mood.

Go onto Buzzfeed and laugh at some of the pics on there I end up with the giggles, tears streaming down my face makes me feel great. Oh and eat some chocolate Grin

Do you mean angry or sad or both? It could be depression and it might be worth going to the DR's, or if you are not comfortanle with that try at identify what you are really unhappy with and attemp to change it.

Get out of the house and go for a walk. You might need wet weather gear and wellies but it will cheer you all up.

Watch a good film when the children go to bed, look at them when they are all sleeping like little angels, plan a day away somewhere good at the weekend, treat yourself to something you normally would not, if you have an OH have a glass of wine with him and make each other laugh or ring a friend. You could do all those tonight and you may feel a little better.

If you can - close the door on everyone, have a bath and an early night. If you're very tired that contributes to not being able to get out of a bad mood.

Clean the house, well the downstairs anyway. Clears my mind if I feel like things are in order.

Go food shopping for something yummy.

Put some music on? Although half the time now that just makes it too noisy for me when I'm with the DCs...

Maybe getting outside for a bit even if it IS wet?

Weird but I do find that a shower or bath or walking in the rain (or generally outside) does help shake off a mood.

Talking to people, definitely. This is how I know I'm an extrovert Blush I get really moody when I go too long without a real life (telephone works, online doesn't) conversation with an adult. In fact, even making plans to see someone when I'm feeling grumpy helps, and visitors/visiting/playdates are a great rainy day activity.

Cleaning sometimes helps too Hmm although it's the last thing I want to do.

Don't really know what's causing it, DC are still wide awake so think a relaxing bath once they are asleep.

Sometimes it is what it is and you feel fed up for no particular reason and it will blow over. However, exercise, lots of water (honestly) and a decent amount of sleep might fix it?

Also, I know it's hard to get motivated, but a good house clear out or doing a job you've been putting off can lift you.

Definitely snacking on surgery/comfort stuff is a bad idea as the sugar low can make it worse.

No answers really. I'm in a bad mood too! I think sleep will do it for me. Just wondering if anyone will notice if I turn off my light and have a few hours?

Have a bubble bath and plan how you would spend a million pounds if you won it. Maybe don't go for the biscuits/sweet stuff as you'll go high then crash. Herbal tea and lighting a candle works for me too. Just two minutes hiding in the shoe cupboard works wonders too!

the gym. run (used to be), cross trainer or something these days, followed by a swim, sauna. Or, when the weather is not thoroughly minging, bodyboarding/swim in the sea. Nothing in the world like a sea swim to blow the cobwebs of bad mood away. Followed by a pint.

Document your day. Note when and what you do/eat, and when you feel better/worse. You will probably see a pattern emerge, and that will help you figure out what's going on.

For me, to get in a good mood I exercise, cook/eat a yummy dinner, read a book, meet friends, waltz around to good music with my baby/hubby, etc. Whatever you enjoy. Did you used to be happy? Why? Can you repeat it?

Get outside... somewhere as green, or sandy as possible. Watching my teenage children run about freely is very uplifting, and running about with them and having a giggle is the best way I can get my mood right. Water usually helps... dress them in old clothes and take spares though!

I put bits of cheese and pineapple on a skewer.

Outside is the best cure. Walk, look at red kites singing squeeeeeee above you. Laugh at funny dogs.

Fresh air. Stompy walk usually works.

YY to being mindful of blood sugar - often a snack helps.

A bit of hard work, either "work work" or housework.

Give myself a talking to, count blessings etc.

(don't do all of these at once, I just find it helps to have a range of ideas, I am a grumpy caaahh at times)
