On Facebook being made up, blusher, eye shadow, lipstick to make her beautiful for granddads party!

What is this teaching a little girl who really still is just a baby?

Or an I being judgy and unreasonable to think it a real shame that a baby can't be a baby?

Was it a j

Was it a joke?

Charlie97 Mon 17-Feb-14 07:47:08

Nope no joke!

It's not yuk. It's bloody revolting. Who in their right minds would do that?

dietcokeandwine Mon 17-Feb-14 18:13:15

Definitely yuck.

Fine if she was just having a play with mummy's stuff and they took a photo (no different to other face paints if just mucking about). But as actual preparation for a party...to wear in public...just no.

Depends how attractive the child is.

At your cervix grin

shock

I can't bear this. Or pierced ears at that age either. Reminds me of those awful beauty pageants for children.

Perfectlypurple Mon 17-Feb-14 18:20:26

Yanbu. I really dislike make up on kids. A bit of lip Gloss ffor an older child playing dress up is fine imo. Anymore than that is too much.

Trooperslane Mon 17-Feb-14 18:23:17

Are you fucking kidding me? Boke

phantomnamechanger Mon 17-Feb-14 18:23:32

yuk! what was she dressed in to go with the make up?

drnoitall Mon 17-Feb-14 18:25:02

Oh get over yourself. What difference does it make it you.
Each to their own.

PumpkinPie2013 Mon 17-Feb-14 18:28:24

YANBU

If she was just playing with mummy's make up in the house then no problem but not to make her 'beautiful' for a party.

Surely at 22 months she's beautiful just as she is?

LettertoHermioneGranger Mon 17-Feb-14 18:29:43

Disgusting.

It's one thing for a child to play with makeup and take a photo - fine.

But to put makeup on a child, as if they were a grown woman? Wrong. Wrong on many levels.

<Looks at my 23 month old DD>

YANBU.

miffybun73 Mon 17-Feb-14 18:32:49

YANBU, it's revolting. Makes me feel sick.

Never too early to start IMO

sadbodyblue Mon 17-Feb-14 18:50:34

1944girl oh yeuk and sounds very dodgy. yanbu op.

MrsBungle Mon 17-Feb-14 18:51:26

22 month old ds had lipstick on today. I don't think it made him look more beautiful though! Are you sure it wasn't just playing?

CommanderShepard Mon 17-Feb-14 19:05:04

DH had to scrub 21 mo DD's face before nursery this morning as she'd got into my makeup and drawn herself a particularly fine beard blush

Actual makeup though, for "prettifying" purposes, is horrible. And really, really sad.

Charlie97 Mon 17-Feb-14 19:10:42

It 100 per cent was not playing! Mum was applying make up with the quote "making xxxx beautiful for party!"

It is very very sad!

coffeeinbed Mon 17-Feb-14 19:18:50

It's disturbing, actually.
Not just revolting.
