To be on tenterhooks about horses and parking?

Ok so technically a thread about (two) threads. But come on, I can't be the only one doing a happy dance at the FYF horse eviction AND the Island-parking-bollard-installation. I think I need popcorn. <contented sigh>

And obviously, hope both threads have happy resolutions for mrsdavid and FuckYouChris

I'm with you OP, sat in my comfy chair with a cup of tea. I'm happy that the situations will be resolved today (hopefully) but sad at the same time as the threads have been very entertaining. grin

Me too!

Can someone summarise the horse one. I read lots of the first thread but then the op changed name and I couldn't be arsed to pick out all her posts. The next thing I knew it was on thread 3.

GiraffesAndButterflies Sat 15-Feb-14 11:10:19

Penguin bollard thread

Bollard thread is, if it's possible, even better than Horse thread IMO grin

Horse thread: it's on the third thread and I confess I didn't make it all the way through the festival talk, but I'll post a summary and someone can correct me.

ProfYaffle Sat 15-Feb-14 11:10:57

Me too, I'm watching them both grin

RandomMess Sat 15-Feb-14 11:11:07

Yes I want to know about the horse thread now too!

I've been avidly following both too. Agree that the horse one is good but the bollard one has the edge.

GiraffesAndButterflies Sat 15-Feb-14 11:19:36

Horse thread summary: FuckYouChris has bought a house with some land attached where her puppy and DC can play and generally happiness can be had. Except that the previous owners had a horse (stallion) which they'd neglected to care for and had consequently been given to/adopted by some local people. Local people (including Unreasonable Woman and RL who I think might be Reasonable Lady) then added another horse of their own. So they then had two horses and weren't paying any fees for using the field, shed etc.

OP asked them to remove the horses, what with it being her field and all. UW was a bitch about it. Then there was a LOT of talk about holding a massive festival to persuade UW that she was in fact BU and needed to fuck the fuck off. grin

Eventually the OP managed to get UW, RL and whoever their co-owners might be to agree that today is eviction day. And their incompetent horse eviction attempts are now probably over as I've taken ages typing this now in progress.

Hope I didn't miss anything out!

I'm watching both too. I really do get a bee in my bonnet about people taking advantage of others so I'm hoping for a great outcome on both

Just as an aside, I wouldn't want to be moving my horse in this wind. Mine is meant to be moved on Monday and I'm rethinking that depending on the wind.

MardyBra Sat 15-Feb-14 11:35:36

Thanks for that giraffes.

Lora1982 Sat 15-Feb-14 12:11:55

Oooh so todays d-day for both??? How exciting!!

SlightlyDampWellies Sat 15-Feb-14 12:22:34

I am hiding in the study pretending to be working but am actually riveted by those threads.

ParsingFancy Sat 15-Feb-14 12:27:48

I too did a happy sigh when I saw both my favourite threads today.

<shares Giraffes' popcorn>

BatmanLovesRobins Sat 15-Feb-14 13:06:36

Ooh, I knew today was D-Day for Parking-Bollard-Thread, but not Horse-Field-Thread (I didn't make it through the festival talk either!).

Fingers crossed for both OPs, and a brew and a biscuit

Sammie101 Sat 15-Feb-14 13:12:29

Parking bollard thread? Can someone link me please? I'm a nosy cow curious smile

I followed the horse one for a little while!

SauvignonBlanche Sat 15-Feb-14 13:15:34

The link for the penguin bollard one is above, I can't see the horse one though.

FlankShaftMcWap Sat 15-Feb-14 13:17:17

Horse one went into into classics I think Sauvignon.

TheDoctrineOfSnatch Sat 15-Feb-14 13:21:23

Horses are gone!

Cars remain!

AlpacaLypse Sat 15-Feb-14 13:22:17

Yes, Sauvignon finally something I nominated for Classics went in!

Still waiting for update from MrsD about the parking bollards...

In the six hours I've been up I've managed to make three pots of tea and a round of sandwiches for dds and their friend who appears to have moved in for the afternoon.

And that's it.

No washing, no tidying, I have opened up a document I'm meant to be working on but not actually done anything with it.

Damn you MN!

yourlittlesecret Sat 15-Feb-14 13:24:32

The hours I waste on here and I missed both of those!

SauvignonBlanche Sat 15-Feb-14 13:49:19

Thank you, I'll look in Classics, I think I vaguely recollect something about the thread, I must have seen in early on.

landrover Sat 15-Feb-14 13:52:06

Bumping in my excitement!
