to think if DPD can tell you when your parcel will be here to the hour, other companies should aim for that as well

Expecting important delivery. Yesterday DPD emailed me with a time slot.
It was delayed so that was emailed through with the new slot.

Today - well a different company. It's sometime.
I'd happily pay the extra to use DPD.
Shouldn't companies aspire to match that level of service?

Totally. I love DPD (slight ASOS addict) and think it is appalling that companies like Yodel and Hermes can get away with such terrible, unpredictable service by comparison. DPD are definitely leading the way and I will always favour companies that use them.

DPD in my area are shit. They email me my time slot, but I get the flags out if I get my delivery on the right day, let alone within that hour slot. Fortunately the depot is not far away, so I just go and pick my stuff up now

They're one of the reasons I've given up on Amazon

It did mean that that DPD guy had to sit outside my house for 10 mins as he was early. He came to the door but couldn't relinquish the parcel until his scanner click ticked over to the earliest delivery time, as otherwise it wouldn't accept it!

I guess some people would complain if the delivery was early even if they happened to be in, and there's no point in the delivery chap getting ahead of himself if all time slots are appointed. But it did seem like a waste of his time, and mine!

Completely agree, with DPD you can even text or email back to arrange a different day or ask them to leave the delivery with a neighbour.

up if he had tried to deliver outside of his ETAs he would have been disciplined and and his manager would have got his arse kicked.

DPD cost more to use than the average bog standard company.. it's all down to cost unfortunately.

I love DPD. I love to watch keith's progress on the little map as he makes his way towards 'Pru heights with all of my latest ASOS purchases our essential articles for survival.

I love dpd, would happily pay extra, and if companies advertised the fact that they use dpd to deliver, it would make me buy from them over anyone else.

YANBU, I totally agree too. Interlink express are like DPD too.

It is so frustrating when you have to stay in the whole day with baby, just waiting for a delivery to arrive, and then it doesn't even pitch up!

I love DPD too. We have Amazon Prime and I'm so glad it's DPD. I remember for one order I was stuck in traffic and realised I wasn't going to be back for the start of the delivery slot so I quickly rearranged it on my phone for the next day (I was very stuck in stationary traffic; I wouldn't usually use my phone in the car).

We know our delivery driver by name we buy too much stuff from Amazon! and we even waved at each other yesterday when we passed each other in our vehicles.

Very happy with them.

I luffs DPD. We cheer when we get the mail that something is coming by DPD. It's always the same guy and he always turns up at exactly the same time. I too would pay extra for it or choose someone who uses them over other suppliers.

Their efficiency is wonderful, isn't it? I've seen them arrive early and wait for their time slot, as well, then knock on the door bang on 10:36, or whenever the hour was due to start.

Another fan here. I don't mind paying a bit extra for delivery either because

I live in the arse end of nowhere so shopping in the nearest city would be a fortune in petrol & parking
I find better deals online anyway so save money there
I really can't be arsed with the shops, going shopping with a double buggy is not much fun!

I like getting a text to give me my time slot - it means I'm not stuck in all day waiting for something that ends up arrive at 6pm!

DPD deliver my (far too many) Space NK orders & after RM they are the best delivery company I've had. So many firms expect you to be in for 14 hours! I don't work so am more flexible than most but I have 2 school runs a day & can't justify keeping the children off school for the sake of a lipstick! With DPD I can check in the morning & if the time isn't suitable, I change it to the next day. I like RM best though because the delivery office is 3 minutes walk away. Similarly I order from Ocado with 1 hr slots ( & advance texts if products are out of stock) - most of the rest seem to have 2 hr slots which seems far more inconvenient.

I agree. So much better than Hermes who actually took 13 days to deliver a parcel, and lied about attempted delivery.

I never buy from anyone who uses them now.

DPD are fab aren't they? Our driver is Ian. I have amazon prime but it doesn't come by DPD, im a bit upset about that as the couriers they use are rubbish and turn up really late.

Mind you can't beat Royal Mail, my work postman is neighbour so he either delivers my parcels to work or takes them home for me if im not at work.

I love them too and keep leaving them glowing feedback so other companies will switch to them. I am on first name terms with 'Dave' my DPD delivery fella. He told me that DPD experimented for a year with timed delivery slots (without telling anyone) just to make sure it could be done.

We don't have KeithWatch. We have AlanWatch.

What makes AlanWatch even better is that the DPD couriers name isn't even Alan. Put the computer system insists he is.

So we get AlanWatch, we get a timed parcel and we get a courier with an identity crisis.

Talk about value for money.

We have a nice Welshman called Rob. My children thinks it's a real treat to check online to where Rob. They get to take it in turns to refresh as long as they behave themselves at breakfast time.

Have you double checked the Welsh Rob is a Rob? He could be a Nigel.
