AIBU?

to point out a grammatical error?

A friend of a friend makes gifts, really pretty, i've ordered a few myself.

I've noticed she is selling some handmade Mother's Day items but grammatically incorrect:

"Nanna's like you are precious and few"

And

"Mum's hold our hands for a short time, but our hearts forever"

Now a random FB status update etc I'd not comment, but these are products she intends to sell at £5 a pop.

Wwyd?

Yes, nice"hope you don't mind" style message will probably help her as long as she's not the type to take offence!

Be kind. Let her know before she makes any more and can correct ones she has already done.

Send me a link.... it's my job to correct such things :)

I would, but I am a bit of a pedant.

Are the things she is selling made-to-order, or would she already have a stock of the ones with rogue apostrophes?

It pitch it as a typo not an error as such, but yes, definitely point it out to her.

Yes, you need to tell her.

Ok. Will summon up the courage! She hand makes - the bits with the words on are decoupaged (sp?)

Do let us know the outcome, I've been thinking of politely informing some of the 'homemade' sellers on my fb for a while about grammar and spelling problems :/

On the christening heart she's written 'you're' instead of 'your'.

Hmm, I'd have to tell her. She could lose custom otherwise.

I haven't looked back at her old stuff, this just caught my eye.

Really hope she doesn't take offence!

Hi XXXXX, love the new Mother's Day hearts! Really hope you don't think I'm a total pain but the little ones for Mams and Nannas have rougue apostrophes in, which aren't supposed to be there. Sorry to be a total pain, just incase anyone who buys them notices they may ask for them to be re-made. Hope it's ok to let you know :$ KenAdams xx

Phew, just got a quick "Thanks, no worries, I'll sort it"

And relax.

I love her stuff! Just can't help but notice stuff like this.

Rogue, not rougue - that'd be embarrassing!

Nomama You wouldn't like to contact my former school would you?

They've got a doozy on their website. I'd do it but it's a bit awkward...

There's a printing company near me that will print 'stationary'. I don't much about the process but I'm assuming it involved some kind of movement HmmGrin.

This is not "bit of a pedant" territory; it's important

Glad it went well.

Also she appears to have "when" written twice on the first love heart. It's whether you suggest that she checks all of her items or actually point out the specific mistakes as the list is getting longer.
