Regular under namechange as I am hoping to use this thread as a weapon.

If you are saying that you find someone attractive, despite the fact that they have a face like a busted bag of spanners, do you say "I see past your looks" or "I see passed your looks"?

I will tell you which one I think is right when you tell me what you all think.

Passed means 'went by' or 'overtook'.

passed is a verb and past is a ...ummm, welll....a errrrrr.... is NOT a verb.

past is describing the seeing. so passed would NEVER be right.

Past. Like you could say, "I see through your physical appearance to the person within". (Backhanded compliment if ever there was one!)

'Passed' is just wrong, I can't think of a way to make it be ok.
