£15 for the nativity DVD at our school! Admittedly that has all the plays from all the different year groups on one DVD so if you have DC in different years, it's not too bad. But if you've only one child, it's exorbitant. Doesn't even come in a proper case.

Don't get me started on the obscene amounts they charge for school photos. I don't buy the photos but I do buy the nativity play DVD, as do most parents. If they put the price up though, I'll stop buying, it's getting ridiculous.

The school let us record it ourselves but do ask the parents no to put them on social media sites due to possible child protection issues

Given as free Christmas gift to parents

Wow, I only have to pay £1 or £1.50 here!

Stagecoach show DVDs cost a bomb though - £12 I paid for the last one.

Passthecake30 Tue 11-Feb-14 12:40:19

£10 per child, and apparently crap.

£14 and that is only for one class not all classes. They do put credits on it too. I am trying to not feel ripped off looking at what some others pay!

A video editor has to film the show. Maybe 2 shows.
Then edit the film on the computer.
Add credits.
Print the DVD.
Do the cover.
Take to the school.

If you sell 100 copies, what would you charge for your time?

I win. Ours are always in the range of 16 to 18. Bonkers.

bookcave Tue 11-Feb-14 16:13:14

Add Credits? A cover? Nope, we get charged £15 and we don't get credits or a cover or a box, it comes in a papery CD envelope.

IwishIwasmoreorganised Tue 11-Feb-14 16:16:08

£2.50. It came as a computer file rather than a DVD so it can't be played on our DVD player!

halcyondays Tue 11-Feb-14 16:43:36

Nothing, they don't do them, we just record it ourselves.

MiniCracker Tue 11-Feb-14 16:46:38

£5, no credits, cover, not edited. But money goes to re-furbishing their outside space so I'm happy to pay that.
