To expect friend's and relatives grown up children (late teens/twenties) to send us a birthday card. We give them xmas pressies and birthday money each year and apart from a thank you at the time we never hear another peep....

Stop sending them cards and money, they'll soon rise to the surface!

I would also stop sending presents/money!

Yabu to 'expect' a birthday card.

Yanbu to expect a thank you for anything you send them. But as per other posters I'd probably stop by now - especially if you are giving to receive!

I am not surprised they don't at that age, but I would feel disappointed if I were you.

And yes, stop sending them money!

It's tricky isn't it? Do people ever start sending 'Aunties' birthday cards when they didn't as a child?

Am not giving to receive!

No I never started sending aunties birthday cards but I would send a thankyou note if they sent me a present/money.
