www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/wife-scots-policeman-accused-hoarding-3109539

She added that she had seen friends of her sons using the computer while visiting the house

Danger to the public!!!!

SaucyJack Tue 04-Feb-14 12:55:10

Wtf? YABVU!

She stated that she had never seen him viewing child porn, and that other people had access to the computer. I should imagine it's perfectly true, so why on Earth wouldn't she say so when asked for the truth in court?

redshifter Tue 04-Feb-14 12:57:25

Well it could have been one of the sons or one of there friends or even the wife herself. Can it be proven that it was the husband?

We will have to see what his special defences of alibi and incrimination are.

The trial is ongoing and perhaps there is more detail in the case than the Daily Record prints.

Innocent to proven guilty?

AngelaDaviesHair Tue 04-Feb-14 12:57:30

If you've got some special information tath what she said is not true, you'd better get on the 'phone to the court, pronto.

Otherwise, what are you saying? She should not have given that evidence even if it were true? Why, because the charges are so horrible she shouldn't have said anything that might help him?

You seem to be having trouble with the whole concept of a fair trial.

Catsize Tue 04-Feb-14 12:57:38

Em, what she says seems okay to me. 'Kiddie porn' on the other hand, is not so acceptable. I work in courts and hear this term thrown around. Don't think it's just me who finds it inappropriate.
That dozens of images were found is an unusually small number.
What if he is innocent, and what she says is true?
Glad you're not on the jury OP! You would have convicted as soon as the indictment was read.

gordyslovesheep Tue 04-Feb-14 12:59:09

She was answering questions in court...would you like her to lie?

MorrisZapp Tue 04-Feb-14 12:59:37

What a horrible thread title.

redshifter Tue 04-Feb-14 12:59:43

And she said she had never seen him viewing porn and that she had seen other people use the computer.

How is it shameful to state what is probably the truth.

YABVU

AngelaDaviesHair Tue 04-Feb-14 13:00:02

Could we also just say 'images of child abuse' instead of 'kiddie porn', please?

gordyslovesheep Tue 04-Feb-14 13:00:22

Yes no such thing as ' kiddie porn' its images of child sexual abuse

WilsonFrickett Tue 04-Feb-14 13:00:39

I think you need to look up what alibi means tbh. She hasn't given him an alibi. She's stated she has never seen him look at pornography or indecent images of children. Two very different things. And, you know what? Maybe she's never seen him look at pornography or indecent images of children?

lottieandmia Tue 04-Feb-14 13:01:09

Please will people stop referring to child abuse as 'Kiddie Porn', please??!

everlong Tue 04-Feb-14 13:01:22

Yes "kiddie porn" is dire.
And something I haven't heard on MN.
Are you new?

AnyFucker Tue 04-Feb-14 13:01:33

Please, OP, could you refrain from using or repeating terms like "kiddie porn"

There is no such thing as "kiddie porn", your use of it makes you sound like an ignorant pitch fork wielder and I am sure that is not the case.

HadABadDay2014 Tue 04-Feb-14 13:02:49

When a computer is shared then of course it could be any one that uses the computer.

Why wasn't the wife as well as the husband arrested. It seems there is a lot more to the storey than what has been printed.

Lilka Tue 04-Feb-14 13:02:59

I came on to say it's called images of child abuse NOT 'kiddie porn'. Been beaten to it. It's completely inappropriate and it's also offensive to many people who have abused

glasgowsteven Tue 04-Feb-14 13:03:57

I am unreasonable

I just realised

She has never seen him view these things

That just means she never saw him do it.

Someone did it on that PC!

WorraLiberty Tue 04-Feb-14 13:04:41

What a weird thread

glasgowsteven Tue 04-Feb-14 13:05:08

Fairly new, not aware that was not to be used

Apologies

beepbeep Tue 04-Feb-14 13:07:13

confused by the title of this thread, why is what she's said shameful, so long as it's the truth. Unless you have evidence to the contrary of course?

WorraLiberty Tue 04-Feb-14 13:07:37

She has never seen him view these things

That just means she never saw him do it.

Or that he didn't actually do it...

This is why we have courts and juries

redshifter Tue 04-Feb-14 13:08:33

Do you think that someone who looks at these vile images would call their wife in to show her? Or maybe they might look at them alone in secret.?

Even if the wife believed her husband to be guilty, if she said she had seen him view these images just so he doesn't get away with it, she could get in trouble herself because she did nothing.

Your OP makes no sense.

TantrumsAndBalloons Tue 04-Feb-14 13:10:04

new to the world? as in- just came out of a bubble?
because thats actually the only rational way to explain this thread.

redshifter Tue 04-Feb-14 13:11:47

When a computer is shared then of course it could be any one that uses the computer. Why wasn't the wife as well as the husband arrested. It seems there is a lot more to the storey than what has been printed.

Totally agree with this. There must be more to it. Otherwise why wasn't wife, sons etc charged?

AnyFucker Tue 04-Feb-14 13:12:09

OP, are you amazed and appalled that (reading between the lines of your OP) some women will cover for their husband's sexual abuse of children ?

Yes, it happens. All the time.
