AIBU?

Or is blocking pavements to get tickets more than a bit inconsiderate?

I get it, they want tickets(so do i!)they're excited, its currently the only thing that matters to them, and sitting in the rain for 5 days is no fun so talking to each other is about all they can do but huddling your chairs to block the entire pavement and then putting up a gazebo that has two feet on the road requiring traffic cones to alert drivers to its presence is taking the fucking piss. Other people need to use that pavement and should be able to do so without having to go out on to the road to get by. People with wheelchairs or prams or small children or lots of shopping shouldnt be being inconvenienced like this for something that isnt necessary.
Right? I'm Confused as to why the council arent doing something.

Have you complained to the council?

Its not in my council's jurisdiction. I would imagine they'll do nothing as they'll be gone by 9.10 tomorrow morning and council is closed now.

No not a blocked pavement i have tried to use. Does it make them not inconsiderate if i havent been inconvenienced by it then? Do the people who use that street all have to post on MN before you will believe it is inconsiderate?

There is also no need for name calling. I havent called you anything.

If a car hits the gazebo in the night I shouldn't think the driver would be in trouble?? They could say it wasn't lit, etc.

Why the hell would someone queue five days for anything never mind Garth Brooks? Its like the queues for new iPads.....crazy.

Im more worried about a car hitting a person who is on the road because they cant use the pavement.

I think you're making a fuss about nothing. It's hardly a huge issue to avoid it for a few days is it? Live and let live, OP.

Its not any issue for me to avoid it. I dont live anywhere near it. I was thinking of the people who actually do need to do their shopping and have to use that road.

I guess there's not loads of them

I had images of a whole street full of hundreds of people.

Btw i am totally with you on the live and let live. I think thise blocking the pavement could still be there without causing other people to make dangerous decisions.

Oh actually there must be more. Shop bloke says it goes on for 40yds. Mmmm, it doesn't look the busiest of towns....maybe not many cars use the road.

From a health and safety pov if someone is hit in the road I'd have thought the council will be in trouble for allowing the pavement to be blocked and would be liable to legal action.

Not loads which is why it should be easier for them to queue without blocking.

I'd plough a buggy straight through the middle of them, I really would. Rude, selfish wankers, just goes to show age doesn't guarantee manners.
