Ok, sort of a thread about a thread, sorry, but reading all the comments about how 3 kids is a nightmare and loads of people wish they'd stopped at 2...anyone want to tell me why it was a great decision to have a third? I'm 34 weeks with dc3 and while pg was planned, I'm now a bit panicked about what we are letting ourselves in for. Too late to change our minds, clearly Grin, but please make me feel less anxious! I'm only being semi-facetious- I'm surprised by how worried I am, at a stage when I feel like I should be feeling super-positive and excited.

There's always at least one DC who isn't being naughty or annoying....

It's great! Obviously it's hectic but that's the beauty of it. Grin

Not everyone said it was a nightmare.

I had three and it was fantastic.

A bit pricey now they're all teens but we manage.

Can't send them back or turf them out! Grin

It'll be wonderful and don't be worried about what others say, it's like labour , ignore the negatives.

Lots of luck !!

Nah seriously it's great because it just is. You get used to the logistics

They are like a little gang

They just about squash in the back of a car

There's always someone else around (also a con tbh Grin)

You can attach reins to them, put on rollerskates and save fuel (in theory)

You hardly worry about them licking the dog when it's no.3

3 lots of love back at ya. Two play together while you spend time with the other. 3 times the laughter, 3 times the smiles,

I'd take three over two any day.

The more the merrier. i had 3 boys all very close together yes a bit tricky at times when they were teenagers but now they are all in late 20s and are great pals - so don't worry it was never a nightmare.

Well there are ups and downs but once we'd seen DD3 we couldn't imagine not having him. And DS2 was like a stroppy, noisy middle child before he was one so it was pretty much essential Grin

Well I'm only three days in but it's going well Grin.

The big ones just adore the baby and my heart melted this morning when the biggest wrote all three of their names in the 'This book belongs to.....' section of a colouring book.

The house seems more chaotic vibrant and fun already which is the kind of house I want.

I've got four. The advantages of having lots of children include them playing together and occupying each other. The older ones can help the younger ones to get dressed/with homework etc.

I love a busy household and the children always have someone to play with, even when they have fallen out with someone else!

I dot have three yet (36wks with DC3) but one of my oldest friends has three DC and they seem to do just great. Her DH has told me lots of times "you don't notice the third one" :o

I'm one of four and as mentioned above, it's like a little gang. From the DCs point of view they'll always have at least one sibling around to play with, three times the amount of toys to play with (when your siblings are in a sharing mood), you learn to negotiate, to compromise and how to hold your own in arguments important discussions.

Looking a long way ahead, but ours are now teens and beyond and although the older 2 are at university, having had the 3rd means we still have one at home.
Of course some people may see this as a reason not to have three.....

House full of fun and laghter. And a bit of mayhem. Never a dull moment. I never regretted having 3 for a second. Number 3 really does just slot in. Its not that much extra work imo.

Joyful chaos, and the ratio of parents to kids is right. With two, they seem too reasonable, even overpowered sometimes. Three puts the balance on the side of fun and youthful bounce. Three is no more trouble than two really, but so much more fun.
