It is probably present pile envy but I am finding it a bit vulgar. Plus it is making our small pile look crap.

Yes I dont like it, I think its too look at me and show offy.

Though if last year is anything to go by, the hoards of 'present pile' photographers will be along wailing we are being mean and dont we know there is a reason they do this soon Xmas Smile

It's odd, isn't it?

Very boastful.

Imo yabu and if you're envious that's down to your issues.

I am choosing to ignore Facebook today. I like to see my own children's presents not others children's presents.

Yanbu .... I think it's showing off. Tbh I wouldn't want that pile of tat in my house anyway.

YABU Not boastful I think. The size of a present does not equate to how much it costs! It is just a christmassy picture!

I have no issue with ut. I woke to no presents and no child this morning. It was nice to see people enjoying their morning but I was a little green with envy at people having their children

hi. I noticed this last night, all the 'santas been' posts. Seeing all the stuff that some children have got just made me feel a bit inadequate as my children haven't got even a quarter of what some other children are getting. Then feeling like a complete bitch that I can't just be happy for other people's good fortune. So no, YANBU. However, over night I've got over myself - it's one day, I've not got into debt about it and I'm not bragging about it on FB. And my kids are happy and grateful for what they have got :)

My DD has piles of presents she isn't even interested in opening if that makes you feel better.

If she does open them she throws the presents away.

So..If you have a child smiling while opening a few presents. .be happy :)

I was going to do it this year because DH is away, but then I decided against because of people like you. I wanted DH to see the kids opening the presents today, but didn't want people sitting there with cat's bums mouths tutting over it so have just taken photos and he will see them when he gets home.

Looking at Facebook isn't compulsory.

YNBU. I also find it a tad showy offy. Although I'm more concerned that people don't realise they are a perfect advertisement as to why many burglaries happen around Christmas time. I'm sure the Police warn about this kind of thing every year. But I'm just being tangy now. Its lovely to see the photos off someone with their bike etc its just the whole pile of presents ones that are strange IMO.

People get their judgey-pants on about everything don't they.

I love seeing people's piles of presents.

I have to say that this is the first year when I've seen so many "Santa's been" photos. No kids, just a tree and lots of presents. I can perhaps see why people like to take the photo, I just don't understand it as a FB status. No present envy here, though I wish I had made more of an effort to get my kids involved in the buying and wrapping of presents for other people. It feels too much about their Christmas list, and not what we've given to others. My fault though.

It's not an advertisement to burglars, ffs. Hmm Think about it: a) the people on your facebook are friends and family, b) anyone who isn't won't know where you live and c) everyone has presents under the tree, burglars don't need to trawl facebook to see who has more lego than someone else!

If you're envious, thats your own problem. People are enjoying themselves, stop griping.

Big presents don't mean expensive - usually the opposite. It's just such a Christmassy picture and people are excited - our tree looked so different with all the presents under it last night.

Good luck to burglars here, I live opposite the Police Station!

We had a 'pile', but only because I wrap things singly rather than bundle and the bulk of presents from us are thoroughly boring things like pants and socks that they need anyway (Santa gives the good presents). Also, the tree's in the corner next to an armchair so the pile instantly has that 'overflowing' look as the presents don't go far back.

It's all smoke and mirrors, and I would never ever post on Facebook anyway - all a bit too 'look at me!'.

SP Sad, did you have your Xmas already or are you having a late one?

I think a lot of people use Facebook like a diary scrapbook. I know I do. It is nice to know if my house burns down tomorrow that I still have photos and status updates to read back over and remember xmases and funny things the kids say. I took a picture of the tree and stockings last year but not this year.
