To think that this model looks awful and quite unwell?

Got to say that it surprised me, Victoria Secrets models usually carry a bit more weight compared to the the emaciated girls we see doing the high fashion stuff.

She's so, so painfully thin. Her face is drawn and she looks older than her years.

When is the modelling world going to start using healthy looking girls who don't look like famine victims? This is not what people want to look at!

Would you have posted the same title if the woman in question had been very over-weight??

CiderBomb Thu 14-Nov-13 13:28:35

Yes actually I would. Being painfully thin like that I just as dangerous as being morbidly obese.

littlewhitebag Thu 14-Nov-13 13:29:22

She is very tall and very slim but she has great muscle tone. I think she looks amazing.

weeblueberry Thu 14-Nov-13 13:30:28

She doesn't look any different to about 90% of the models out there IMO. Most of them are very skinny and have very 'severe' looking faces....

CiderBomb Thu 14-Nov-13 13:30:32

You think a concave stomach, and bones jutting out here and there looks amazing?!

HettiePetal Thu 14-Nov-13 13:30:45

Tall and slim, that's what I see. She doesn't look unhealthy at all.

Some people are naturally that shape.

My DS (17) is really spindly. I started giving him Complan with his breakfast - made no difference at all.

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack Thu 14-Nov-13 13:30:56

Does she have an ED then do you know? Or are you just making assumptions?

Live and let live I say smile

She is very slim but I don't think she looks unwell

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack Thu 14-Nov-13 13:31:34

Plus she doesn't look painfully thin at all.

Fishandjam Thu 14-Nov-13 13:31:59

"Great muscle tone"? Really?? Can't agree with you there.

I think she looks too thin. Especially round the legs.

Rooners Thu 14-Nov-13 13:32:15

I think she needs to lose about 13 stone, in the form of her bloke.

littlewhitebag Thu 14-Nov-13 13:32:55

My Dd is very tall and slim. That's just how she is.

Models are tall and slim too. I really don't think she looks at all unwell.

SoupDragon Thu 14-Nov-13 13:34:01

I don't think she looks unwell.

CiderBomb Thu 14-Nov-13 13:34:13

Honestly, I've never met anyone who's as thin as some models are. I can't believe anyone is naturally that skinny, sorry.

OrangePixie Thu 14-Nov-13 13:35:00

Some people are 'painfully' thin naturally so it's not dangerous at all.

I bloody hate thin-bashing.

HopAlongOnItsOnlyChristmas Thu 14-Nov-13 13:35:15

I think she looks quite fit and strong actually, if lacking a bit of body fat. You can see muscles rather than just skin over bone.

But you know, we come in all shapes and sizes.

Mintyy Thu 14-Nov-13 13:36:19

Yes, I think she looks out of proportion (head too large for body) but can't say she looks unwell in the face.

CiderBomb Thu 14-Nov-13 13:36:22

Why is ok to bash fat people continually, but not point out when someone is too skinny?

HopAlongOnItsOnlyChristmas Thu 14-Nov-13 13:37:19

It's not OK to fat bash. Or skinny bash. Or generally reduce women down to just what they look like.

docket Thu 14-Nov-13 13:37:27

I can think of four people I know who are naturally that slim. Two are men and two are women. Some, people, admittedly a small percentage are naturally v slim

CiderBomb Thu 14-Nov-13 13:38:24

But don't you accept that it sets a poor example to teenagers who are neither fat nor skinny, just somewhere in between and feel that they have to be rail thin to be considered beautiful and attractive?

OrangePixie Thu 14-Nov-13 13:38:24

I'm probably as thin as her and always have been. I can assure you there is nothing wrong with me. Normal eating habits, average fitness levels, normal mestrual cycle and two easy pregnancies and labours.

It's genetic, my dad is the same.

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack Thu 14-Nov-13 13:38:40

It ISN'T ok to bash anybody to be honest, who says it is.

I have a naturally thin face and unfortunately and I hate it when people tell me I am too thin. I'm not for a start and it's bloody rude.

ithaka Thu 14-Nov-13 13:40:28

She has a great body - you can see the muscle tone. I think we have lost sight of what a healthy body looks like.

A healthy BMI is 18.5-25, which means even the lower end is healthy. My BMI is 21 and I am always been told I am 'tiny', 'petite'or 'skinny'. I really am not, it is just that so many people these days are at the upper end of healthy, which is not necessarily any better than being at the lower end.
